ZX-10R owners-----What kinda mods did you do?---Dyno?

Post by SideShow »

So far I've added:

Double Bubble windscreen
Flush mounted turn signals---probably stock for you all
Lost that rear mud flap and added intergraded stop turn signals in back
M4 Carbon Fiber High Mount slip-on
BMC race air filter
16 tooth front sprocket
throttle insert
Power commander III usb
pilot powers
speedo healer
Gear indicator
Sliders
pick-up knobs
TRE
Seat Cowl

Now for the mods I still need and want..

I need a Damper or Stabilizer,,, I think I like Stabilizer better, less baggage up front

And I need to take it and get it tuned.

Any recommendations would be appreciated, I'm not much for kneedragging but I love hot rodding.......

My mods have been pretty much limited to a 16 tooth front, speedohealer, double bubble, and the freebie race kit Kawasaki Australia gave me which had a titanium akrapovic slip-on, afam rear sprocket, braided lines on the front, a set of pilot powers and some pick-up knobs for the race stand.

Oh yeah...I forgot I've also got a Hyperpro steering dampener.

....and a radiator guard

I got..
Tinted Double Bubble
Matris Damper
Yoshi Carbon Slip on
Attack racing exhaust bracket
Single seat cowl
Fender eliminator
Vortex adjustable rearsets, the nice black ones..
Green carbon tank protector
Race stand pick ups
Pilot Powers
41 tooth alum rear sprocket (waiting for the chain to stretch a little more so I can fit it)
Frame sliders - I have 2 sets, 1 requires faring mods the other doesn't so I'll be checking em out and fitting one set this week.??

Dropped the front triple clamp 3mm down the forks...

Haven't had it on a dyno yet but apart from the slip on adding a couple of ponies it will be pretty stock...

I feel absolutely boring

All I've done is

The freebie can - Akra
Rear fender eliminator
Single seat Cowl
Carbon Tank Protector
Pick up Knobs
Some really cool bike club thing stickers - KSRC or something like that
Number plate frame clear sucker with the lines.
Pilot Powers are going on this weekend.

What I wanna do is
Steering Damper
PCIII
Double Bubble
Rear Sprocket or front
Speedo healer due to sprocket

How's the song go... Money, Money Money........

I reckon a PC111 and system + filter would make the Ten faster than many worked litre bikes, maybe a steering damper would help too.

I really wanted one to race in Superstock, I would have done the above and maybe an IGN advancer as well, and with some suspension mods I reckon it would have been faster than a lot of the local Superbikes. With equal riders on them anyway.

But as it happened Yamaha offered me more money to race for them!   8)   But yeah down the track if it is doable I would love to get a 10R for racing. I am now at the point where an ER6N would keep me more than happy on the street.

Is there anything better than the new 10R??? (Don't say "the old one")

I forgot, I got one of those too, a TRE.

I can pull the front wheel off the ground with just a twist (not clutch)in first four gears,,, nope I'm not kidding.

And just think I haven't been to the Dyno yet. Got my map for my PCIII from a tuner that said he tuned a bike exactly like mine,,, runs perfect,,, before the PCIII lots of backfire in deacceleration....

I highly recommend PCIII and Air Filter....

I am looking to put a can on mine, for the sound rather than any negligible power gains - I am quite a sucker for nice sounding exhausts. I dont think it needs a damper though might fork out for one if I find a good deal... I think I will leave it at that.

Only things I have done to mine are a tank protector and a radiator guard, and due to having a puncture in the rear tyre from the weekend, I will be replacing the D218's a little sooner than expected with some pilot powers. I might drop a tooth off the front sprocket too as the insanely long gearing bugs me at times.
