I wear draggin cargos nine months of the year on the road and have no qualms. I wear seperate knee/shin armour under them. I've low sided onto my knee and had no problems. Shredded the outer fabric but not a fibre out of place on the kevlar. No fabric burns or burst seams. Impact bruise on my hip ...
