Re: zx7/zx9 engine differences?

He Sam,

I have a 2002 ZX7R, and a couple of years back did the ZX9R engine swap.

The front engine mounts need to be moved - i purchased a kit from the states which included mounts which utilized the existing mounts. Without them the front mounts need to be ground off the frame, and new ones welded ...

Hey everyone...

Well - sadly the 2007 project - stretched well into 2008 :)

The 7 has been off the road for just about a full 12 months, but now its time to make some noise once again... if only the rain would go away!

The ZX9R engine swap is now 99.9% finished.

Everything is up and running, done ...

Lainie,

thanks. i picked up my bike on sat.

it will be back 'off' the road again soon.

ive secured a ZX9R engine and associated parts needed to do the 7/9 engine swap as my 2007 project.

then it will be the sweetest zx7r in melbourne!

Heya,

as per the previous suggestions - id say, dont change anything and dont worry about going to the 520 either.

the difference of a 525 to a 520 on the 7... on the road, forget it. If your chasing half seconds on the track, get some lighter wheels first and then, and then, and then, after ...

Heya,

the best sliders out there are from R&G racing.

I got a set in for under $200 if i remember right.

Ill try and get some pics up of mine when i was installing them.

If you are not mechanically inclined, id suggest you get a good mate to help who is, otherwise you might not be happy with the ...

Cool,

make sure you check out my 7 :)

Once ive got it back from Pete, we'll have to get out for a ride.

Given you live near me, ive noticed these 2 guys lately that are CRAZY fast riders going passed my place. Not sure what bikes, 1000's for sure. The seem to like doing mono's and smoking up the ...

so far he has only made the covers for the ram air tubes.

re: zx7r ram air ducts

Thanks for the info...

While i think of it, another thing i think i noticed was that the engine braking was different!

When i took it out i tried everything... 0-220ish 1,2,3,4gears to about 10K etc... roll on's and so on.

I was very dissapionted.

Back on the engine braking thing ...

zx7r ram air ducts

Hey guys,

i was just wondering if anyone has played around with the ram air ducts on the 7.

my bike currently has been tuned with jetting/ k&n filter and pipe and i was thinking of making some carbon ram air tubes to replace the factory stuff.

as everyone with a 7 should know they have all ...
