That's shocking!
The right side crack seems easy enough to understand, looks like a welding issue initiated the failure... the left hand side though seems to have gone in sympathy due to do the increased bending stress.
IMO that's not repairable mate.

Re: Pilot Road 2's (2CT's) Opinions, Experiences?
Thread CPR!!! CLEAR!!
Ok, just for completeness, I thought I'd check in and close the loop on my own tyre question.
The rear was finally down to the wear markers so a couple of weeks back I replaced the rear with another PR2. The odo was at 49,000 km - so that makes a total of a wopping 21,000km ...

Mileage: 31622km. i.e. 3673km in 2months of mostly commuting and heavy acceleration, with some twisties. Tread depth at the wear indicators is about 5.1mm so about 0.7mm wear.
New pilot power front, tread depth above wear indicators about 3.1mm.
Wear update:

Re: Pilot Road 2's (2CT's) Opinions, Experiences?
Wellllll, I've had the pilot power front, pilot road 2 rear for a while now.
I'm getting good wear on the rear for the type of riding I do, and for the most part I'm able to have a confident fang in the twisties when I get there. There's still some squidge factor on the side but that's while you ...

Re: Are all rs3 yoshi slip ons the same???
We're talking slip on.
My RS3 inlet hole diameter is 57mm... a dude selling an RS3 for a GSXR has an inlet hole diameter of 57mm too... apparently all RS3's are the same oval dimensions, only the lengths are different...
Now I need to find other bikes fitted with RS3 Yoshi's and attack them with ...

Are all rs3 yoshi slip ons the same???
Hi ya folks... it appears the good folk at matt mladin imports and yoshi RD in the USA aren't interested in answering this question... so I'll put it out to you guys.
My 9 has a yoshi rs3 oval slip on can.
It's got some scratches :( ...I'm tossing up metal polishing - but for the about the same ...

Re: michelin tc tyres???
I have a Pilot Power on the front and a Pilot 2CT road on the rear of the failing Marshmallow and it works a treat!!! Don't knock em till you try em!!!
Strika, I currently have the same set up... I'm not entirely digging it. I've got a thread running in this section of the forum on the actual ...

Re: Pilot Road 2's (2CT's) Opinions, Experiences?
Taa Z900. :)
pilot powers...
fit a matching pair.
The only drama with going pilot powers front and rear (which is what I've done to date) is that since I live in Melbs west, it's a bloody long way to anywhere good and there's lots of straight roads, that means that the Pilots square off ...

Re: Performance improvements for 02 9R
Well well well.
I'm not sure whether it's just my imagination, or my desire for something to be different after the filter mod, but the bike certainly seems a bit stronger in the mid range and up top and just generally a little more perky. The engine seems "free-er" to rev up too. It might be my ...

Re: Performance improvements for 02 9R
Well, with a bit more gentle pursuasion the mesh came off. For whatever reason, the mesh was stuck around the edges. Luckily, the damage to the filter foam was limited.
The plastic grid is a sandwich to keep the foam in place, so I've put the filter back with the grid but without the mesh. I'm ...

Re: Performance improvements for 02 9R
Get a K & N, otherwise you will be paying $60 for a new filter every time it needs servicing.
You can get a K & N cleaning and re-oiling kit from Repco for about $20-30
Matt, I totally get what you're saying, but since it's a foam filter, I'm thinking it's reusable.

Re: about removing the mesh off a stocker.
Tenog I have an '02 9R too. A Remus Slip on, K&N, Jet Kit & Dyno done before The SBK trip.
That price isnt a great one but its only a coupla hundred more then I paid all up.
I would'nt bother with the filter just remove the steel mesh from the OEM Filter does a better job apparantly.
You will ...
