re: A tale of a ZX9R, an old lady and the NRMA...

omg omg update!

Just spoke with the assessor. My bike is being total-lossed (They're paying to replace it.)

So I'm getting {value of bike} - {value of wreck} . He said he'd emailed photos of the trashed bike to some bike dealers to get it valued.

So for how much do you guys think a bike ...

re: Police stories

Yeah, I have considered keeping records, recording interactions with my phone, lodging letters etc.

But really, they haven't been able to pin me with anything, nor do I intend to give them anything to fine me for. So I should be pretty right. Their persistence is amusing.

Another tale I ...

re: Police stories

Heh, Young has a population of about 12,000 (including the whole shire.)

I'm pretty famous as the "know-it-all on the green bike."

The cops in Canberra are great compared to here, I can't wait to move there. The other good thing about Canberra is almost all the speed cameras only face ...

re: What do I spend my money on?

I'm with aardvark on this one.

I considered doing some upgrades to my ZX9R performance-wise. Then I realised the thing was STUPIDLY fast just how it was. (Well, for road use anyway.)

I still want a ZX12, but that is more of a comfort thing. (I'm huge.)

Police stories

I was going to post this under "fine for unable to maintain control..." but I decided rather than send a thread off topic, I'd make a new one.

What Aardvark posted made me think of this.

I have little respect for several of the cops around here. With good reasons, I might add. I'm not ...

Re: re: A tale of a ZX9R, an old lady and the NRMA...

...now heres the best trick of all, go to the NRMA and if there saying the wreck is worth $4000 ask them to where and them get them to get offers from salavege ppl. its kinda up to them to prove the wreck is worth what they say it is.

I was hoping that was the case. I don't see why I should ...

Re: re: A tale of a ZX9R, an old lady and the NRMA...

... their insurer cannot take your bike from you. ... You have no contract or agreement with the other party's insurer.

That is what I thought.

When they settle you, they'll pay you the cost of fixing your bike, or the cost of replacing your bike - less salvage. So they estimate what your bike ...

re: A tale of a ZX9R, an old lady and the NRMA...

Well, that is what I thought, but the assessor guy said that because it wasn't my policy, all they did was a cash settlement.

Thinking about it, I don't have any dealings with the NRMA, what right do they have to take my bike? A lady damaged it, the NRMA has agreed to insure HER. If I want it ...

A tale of a ZX9R, an old lady and the NRMA...

Long story short, a friend was riding my Ninja and an old lady cleaned him up. The following is my dealings with the NRMA.

The bike has lots of superficial damage, the carbon fibre exhaust broke & also the steering stop snapped off the frame. The bill came to $9077, which included a new exhaust ...

Premium? Unleaded? Both? Neither?

Self proclaimed bike experts everywhere seem to be unable to agree on what sports bikes should run on... I've been told everything from "Only use premium!" to "Never use premium!" - around here the premium isn't much better than the unleaded, but still.

What is the general consensus on fuel ...

Um... Hello...

Hi everyone. I've been wondering if there was a site such as this for a while, guess I just found it.

About me; I'm from Young (NSW) and I currently own a green 1998 ZX9R (What's left of it...)

I bought it from Bowral motorcycles... they said it was originally from Canberra... maybe someone ...
