Re: Bike won't hold charge

With the engine running, the voltage at the battery should be 13.5v (charging system ok), so it does sound like the alternator or regulator is at fault. Here's where you need a service manual, as it tells you how to check each element. Nobody has weighed in with whether the ZZR600/1100 electrical ...

Re: Bike won't hold charge

Ditto above. Many possible issues here. Is it hard to start? And, if so, how? Long time cranking for no result, slow cranking all the time, gradual reduction of cranking speed over time or what??? You say you've had the battery checked. How was the battery "checked"? A battery can register 12v when ...

Decals - Where to buy + Paint/repair shops - Sydney

On a recent trip up Buckett's Way, I had a "walking speed" put down on gravel on my previously unmarked 94 ZZR1100 :( :( . Luckily, I didn't break anything and was able to continue (up to Nana Glen - great ride except for this) but got some nasty scratches on the lower fairing, and through ...

Wind Noise Reduction without Isolation

Formerly "Wind Noise in Full-Face Helmets"(http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24356) post I think should be given a wider view. A lot came out of this but I feel the underlying problem was NOT really addressed, which is, not just REDUCING ALL SOUND, but SELECTIVELY reducing WIND ...

Re: Wind Noise in Full-Face Helmets

OK, I've just gone back thru this post and checked all the responses. Firstly, thanks to all for your contributions. The first thing that is apparent is there is no SIGNIFICANT difference between helmet brands, so thanks, that answered my question. Now, this has evolved into a discussion on the ...

Re: What's it worth?

Well, I bought mine for $8K 8 months ago thru a dealer :( (on consignment from a guy who worked there and wouldn't part with it for less  ), it's immaculate, had 29100km when bought, full log books, Ohlins rear, bits of extra chrome/polishing, but otherwise stock (I love it and well worth the ...

Re: Wind Noise in Full-Face Helmets

Funnily enuf, I was at MCA on Thursday to buy some chain gel, and ran into the Arai rep in OZ (I think). Anyway, had a long chat with the bloke, nice guy, and he told me LOTS about helmet fitting. For instance, Aria is the only helmet maker who offers several different head shape profiles, i.e ...

Re: Hello!

Sorry for the delay, my son got an Xbox 360 and Xbox Live and it's a real fight to get the one modem connection ( Yeah, I know, wireless router, etc. SOON) Anyway, the place where I spent most of my practice time is an area bordered by Windsor Rd, Pitt town Rd/Cattai Rd/Wisemans Ferry Rd to Old ...

Re: Bike Mechanic at Castle Hill or Blacktown

I can recommend Castle Hill motorcycles, from personal experience. Nice blokes, seem to know their stuff. My mate who also has a ZZR1100 put me onto them, he's happy with them too. :D

Re: Wind Noise in Full-Face Helmets

Thanks everyone, guess I won't be in such a hurry for a new lid after all. Regarding ear plugs, I've been using the silicone chemist shop jobs ( pink coloured, come as a block divided into 6) for sleeping for years, they work REALLY well and last for a while, but when I tried them on a ride ...

Re: ZZR1100 manufactured 12/00 less than 4000 KLMS

:D Totally agree with everything cookietree said, the axle rotation is good, makes it so much easier to get the beast up onto the centrestand as well. My mate has the maroon/charcoal combo and it looks great, keep it. Congrats on your buy!! :D :D
