I have the chance to buy a 1997 Kawasaki ZX7R which has 126 000km, it is not running and suspect the Junction box is dodgy. The bike is very tidy and has been sitting for some a year, no rego...
Is it worth the effort or not - I can pick it up for a bit less than $2k

Re: tyres...
yeah but my oringinal Question is - will a 190 still fit on my old Budget bike - 94 ZX9R? it runs a 180.. I just don't know if there will be enough clearance in there... they are good sticky brand name tyres, off a work mate who used them for a few track days.. still heaps of tread left. I normally ...

bar riser - ZX9R
I have a 94 ZX9R, which I am enjoying (having not had a sports type bike for many years) but the reach to the bars is a bit much when riding for a long time. Does anyone make high rise clip on's for the ZX9R? keeping in mind the cage from the frame to the front fairing would limit the height...

1994 ZX9R - suspension
I have had my 1994 ZX9R for a few weeks now and really like it. It seems a bit harsh on the low speed compression on the forks - but feels pretty good everywhere else...
there are three adjusters on the forks - brass clickers on the back lower forks - I am guessing Compression...

Re: new to the ZX9R
thanks guys. I will do oil and filter tonight, I have ordered some fibers only and will give the steels as light sand on a tile and wet and dry. I didn't think of some washers under the spring bolts to increase preload...
Oh and how do I attach pictures?

new to the ZX9R
hi guys, I have had many bikes road and dirt, but just picked up a 94 ZX9R and this it is a sweet bike.
It is pretty tidy, just clicked over 80 000ks and needs a few things - first an oil change - haven't attemped it yet, but looks like the oil filter might be a turd to get at... Any tips on oil ...

No worries mate, I think this was the page :
http://www.repairmanualclub.com/motomanuals/index.php?dlid=416
If that doesn't work, I can scan a few pages for you.
Cheers,
Brian
Hey Brian, I did down load that manual and it is in German or something... any chance you could scan those few pages ...

Re: GPZ water pump oil leak ---
Yeh Rod's correct, the same thing happened to my GPX pump and I needed a new pump because the parts to repair it wernt sold seperately that was a few years ago mind you at $400 odd that was a bit much I thought.

Re: GPZ water pump oil leak ---
Hi
For the parts i just rang the local Kawasaki shop and asked for water pump gaskets. You need the water pump gasket, outlet pipe oring and the rear oil seal on the pump. Cheap parts. New water pump was quoted $450
Did mine but it still leaks a tiny bit so may have to do again. Have been ...
