Re: Fuel System cleaners in bikes?

Ok, so I put some in my tank this morning, and rode to work and back...
The result... Bloody Fantastic! Before I did anything, I was struggling to get the bike over 7000rpm, and now it gets up there no worries.
It still has a couple of issues, but I'll see how it goes after a second treatment ...

Re: Fuel System cleaners in bikes?

OK, so I'm going to bite the bullet and stick some in my tank today if the weather fines up enough to go for a ride!
I've got some Nulon Fuel system Cleaner sitting in the shed that was brought for the wifes car. We'll see how it goes and I'll keep you posted of any results (weather they're good or ...

Fuel System cleaners in bikes?

Hi.
My '99 ZX6 has been running a bit rough lately, so a mate suggested I try some fuel system cleaner before going to the expense of taking it to a mechanic. He said it's worth a try at least...
now I've heard that it's not too good to put additives into bikes cos it can dammage them.
Is this true ...

Re: 99 ZX6 - flat spot at 7500rpm - Any help?

does it seem to occur more at specific revs or at specific throttle openings? have a bit of a play and try and figure this out. Specific revs MAY be electrical. Specific throttle openings is very much looking at the carby. Also try and determine the specific percentage of throttle opening when it ...

Re: 99 ZX6 - flat spot at 7500rpm - Any help?

It could be the exhaust system type ?? Unless the system has been jetted properly, flat-spots when using some styles of exhaust are not uncommon....a carbie synch is also a good idea. Also make sure the air filter is clean....

It has a stock system and the jets were replaced less than 2000km ...

99 ZX6 - flat spot at 7500rpm - Any help?

Hi
I've recently picked up a 99 zx6, and was wondering if it's normal for there to be a fairly noticeable flat spot at about 7500rpm?
Now just to clarify, it's not so noticeable if you're riding hard from a standing start, but is really there if you're trying to accelerate from speed (to overtake ...

zx6 '99 fairings

Hi,
I just picked up a '99 model ZX6 which is missing the side fairings (And the other fairings are only in fair condition too). I'm having trouble finding fairings for a 99, but there's a few places selling full fairing kits for 00-02 models. It looks like they're the same frame basically? does the ...
