Re: Power cutting at higher rev range

Thanks guys! Haven't got back to it yet, but yeah fuel line is a possibility (I did have the tank up refitting some parts) and will try some injector cleaner.

I did a fuel pump kit 2 years ago - this one

Power cutting at higher rev range

Hi all,

On a ride on the weekend the 08 zx6r was cutting out/down on power when:

under load, and
hot, and
into the higher rev range (started loss at around 8k, dead above 10k)

Does happily rev in neutral.

Thinking to first clean the fuel pump/pickup filter.
Next replace plugs (hasn't been done ...

Keep off the thottle around police... :-)

 Thanks boss.

Are there defect stations? Heard mention of them but maybe covid stopped all of that.

There was one on the Bells last week. Mainly stopping 4wd's..

Interesting. You'd want to be careful riding a ZRX past a heavy vehicle inspection ...

Re: Chance of being defected and how to avoid

Think your safe mate. All of my bikes have been able to be defected but never had an issue. If worse comes to worse we can get a blueslip :D

Chris is driving an 800hp turboed 403 LQ9 running on Ethanol with a locked diff Manualised TH400 with a trans brake and no cats on twin 3” exhausts. I think ...

Anyone had any experience with a simple upgrade from another model?
Sorry can't help you with Z specifics, but can say that the Penske racing shock on the rear of my bandit made it feel really planted

Helmet Age

Hi All,
I'm getting back into riding after years off. What's the deal with helmet lifespan?

I've got an awesome Shoei XR1100 that still fits perfectly. I brought it new, never been dropped, been stored well in a cool dry cupboard in the helmet bag, been off the bike for around 7 years it hasn't had ...

Just threw my last 2 stickers on both cars. Usually get a good 18 months before an edge starts to lift :)
Still rocking one on my helmet

Chance of being defected and how to avoid

Hey all,

Going to get back into road riding.

What's the chance of getting defected with a full exhaust? Never considered it back in the day, are things stricter now?

Places or times to avoid around sydney?

Cheers.

Got a FI red light on the dash after 12,000rpm testout, got a few doing hairpins up Galston Gorge too. Turn the bike off it goes away. The manual says its a Fuel Injection warning and to see kwakadarki dealer. I put some injector cleaner through. Need a eliminator to plug in for that, few said ...

Re: Considering a ZX12R purchase...

Anyone riding a 12 in Sydney still?

Out of interest have you ridden a 1000 or 600 before? If you're looking at more track days and a road bike to compliment your BMW you might enjoy a sharp sports bike?

Re: So what's everyone up to during isolation.??

Work died for a couple of weeks but has picked back up now. Intense but good to have the kids around at home.

I've started getting the ZX6R back on the road. After i binned it around 8 years ago it got half fixed, then sat since then.

First was the tank which was full of rust from a million heat ...
