I will add my two cents to this perpetual problem.
I also suffered from noise when riding my ZZR600. I had a Nolan (pedrosa rep), which I have just replaced with a KBC which I find much more comfortable. I agree with the theory if you wear something between your neck and your collar it certainly ...

Re: Buying a ZZR
I bought I used zzr250 for my son last year. I paid $2500 for a registered 1991 model. I now realise that was too much. I recommend you ride before you buy. Have someone with you who knows about bikes. Look at the little things. I didn't notice there was no chain guard on the bike I bought. After I ...

Re: Rego Holder
I have seen them in the local bike shop for $29.95. But I couldn't bring myself to part with the cash, so i made my own. The tube and endcaps are the packaging from a counterboring bit we use at work. I made the brackets by drilling a strip of aluminium and wrapping it around the tube. the whole ...

Re: Winter gear - expressions of interest
I will take two caps and two neck warmers. I haven't purchased anything before but if you send me the details I am happy to bank deposit.
Are you going to post any pics of the gear?
Cheers Marty

Re: tyres
We just put a set of Bridgestone tyres on my son's zzr250.
The front is a BT45f the back is a BT45r. He seems pretty happy. He's not trying to break the lap record at the island, but remember it's a 250.
From memory I think they were about $180 each fitted.

Mr W is right as is the diagram he supplied. There are only two pistons one small one large.

Re: Advice on ZZR 1100 please
I will declare an interest here in admitting this bike is owned by my brother in law. I can vouch for the fact that it has always been meticulously maintained and garaged and is probably the best example you would find:

Re: fairing bolts
I have the fairings off my son's bike at the moment:
There are six M5 x 0.8 x 20 long phillips head screws in each of the side fairing panels. Three of these attach it to the front fairing, two attach it to the vee panel and one fits it to a bracket on the frame just below the tank on the side of ...

Re: ZZR250 motor update
The whole job required no special tools and was not that difficult. I worked on the bike while it was on the big stand. A good 1/4 metric socket set and a few 1/2 drive metric sockets (12,14,17 and 19) and a couple of screwdrivers did most of the work.

From the looks of that fairing they did do a fantastic job. It looks like they are a fairly worthwhile investment.
