Well, the new oil is a little lighter in colour depth, but still far darker than I would have expected. It's not as 'black', just very dark ...
The colour straight out of a sealed 4ltr container was also a bit on the dark side, but certainly not black.
I guess it's indicative of this particular oil ...

Re: Motul 5100 is soo black
Hey thanks to all the guys that made positive and helpful responses...
I took it back and they absolutely guaranteed that it was changed and that the 'residual' old oil made it go that colour. Now this bike only has 10,000 klm... None the less thay changed it again for me at no charge after some ...

Re: Motul 5100 is soo black
Thanks for the responses. The previous oil was a very dark colour, but more dark brown not black. This one was pitch from the start.
How could it take up that much colour in such a short time ?
The filter was changed for a new one at the same time.
Closer inspection also reveals that the oil level ...

Motul 5100 is soo black
I've just had the beast serviced at the local 'dealer' who uses Motul 5100 10w50 (which is the first time I've used this oil) and as soon as I picked it up the oil was as black as.
It was after hours, so no techie to ask about it.
Now I don't know much about oil, but I would have expected it to be ...

Top Overhaul Kit GPZ750
Hi all,
I'm looking to do the rings on my 83 GPZ750.
Is there a 'top overhaul' kit that includes all the gaskets and parts needed or do i need to order them all individually ?
What are the options for a bigger bore kit ?

Leaded or Unleaded
For some time I have been adding the lead replacement mixture to unleaded, but have recently been informed that Japanese bikes started running on straight unleaded fuel even before my old machine (1983 GPZ 750).
Anyone have a definitive answer on this ?
thanks

GPZ750 Handlebar Risers
Hello,
Old age (not that old, but high mileage) means I need to raise the handlebars a bit on my 1983 GPZ750 (shoulder and back etc, etc), so I’m after a ‘riser’ (or something that creates that effect)
I've seen varying styles of these available for many other bikes but not for this one.
