Re: Finally my 250R
Yes yes, all true and that's why I ride Versys now (which actually takes about the same amount of fuel as my 250 before! :))
Although this little GPX really rocks - I love it and except for long trips, I'd be happy to have it myself.

Re: Finally my 250R
It's a beauty mate, congratulations :)
I had the old 2006 GPX250 before, it wasn't bad but looked like piece of.
Only thing I didn't like in the previous bike was the revs on freeway ... I think like 7000 revs at 100km/h and 1000 more for every 10km/h extra.

UPDATE
So after over 2 months and 5100km on my bike, I have a few updates.
Firstly, the bike has proven itself to be an excellent touring and commuting machine.
It's very comfortable on the freeway, has plenty of power and good character for those twisty bits of Pacific Hwy (I have only like 1cm of ...

Re: My Versys
top box, yes givi perhaps, the rack, i think ermax, but anyway, doesn't matter, i really think the one i got is the No 1 ... its pretty well shaped actually, so you can use it for various things, even when the top box is removed ... it leaves a small L shaped rack, good for a sleeping bag, a big box ...

Re: My Versys
got an excellent top box today - HEPCO BECKER 50l with rack for Versys - easy to install, heavy duty construction, the box is easy to remove - in seconds, and the rack looks almost as if it was a part of the original bike design.
very much recommended - i think it's even better than the genunie ...

Re: My Versys
Thanks for your tips Strika, it all makes sence and I have already practised some of it, I'm sure it will take more experience to master this though. :) I also have noticed that if I hold the tank with my knees tight, the bike gets a lot more stable. Still scares the brown out of me.

Re: My Versys
And why is this bike here?
That's right, everything is more capable of gravel than my old GPX250 :))
I believe it's also about the experience of the rider - I haven't done much off road riding so I feel very nervous on loose surface - no way I could avoid an oncoming car in a bend and such ...

Re: My Versys
Well, most of my riding is tarmac, and that's where this bike belongs. Longer suspension travel gives you better control and comfort on bad country roads, riding position is excellent for city riding and general view forward.
Also, as opposed to the GPX250 I had before, if the tarmac ends, I don't ...

2008 Kawasaki Versys
So far quite standard, except for the cylindrical rego holder fixed hidden on the side frame so it doesn't disgust the eye of beholder that much. :)
Now getting Hepco-Becker 50l top box - after massive research, I think this one is the best option - price, looks and practicality wise.
