had some cooling issues with my 9 lately, I've been through and replaced thermostat, water pump and check all the hoses (the cheaper options as I had a bunch of spares) but my fears have been confirmed, the Rad has a tonne of broken or closed off fins (almost a third of the total fins ...

If the carbies on the gpx are similar to the zzr i used to have (from all acounts the rest of the bike is similar) the throttle has a second cable which pulls it back rather than relying on the return spring to close the butterfly (not 100% on my terminoligy, so feel free to correct me
)

I had the exact same thing with my old one. those rivets they use are weak as piss. just be carefull to check for stress cracks from it wobling around. mine nearly split in half
