Been away awhile too!
Like Scubie (HI MATE
) i've been gone for a bit, i've been over at the ozzx12 site to name one but have also been busy with shift work. Still would like to catch up when I can. I see there are some fellow Geelongians here now.
Will be around the forums.

re: Arista Insurance
I left Arista a year ago after being with them for two years with no claims. Reason was that 50% increase mentioned above. They were very competitive price wise, but could not give me a valid reason for the increase.

re: What fuel
Many will disagree but here goes,
I use Optimax in my 12r and find it quite good. Throttle is very crisp and responsive and the end of my muffler goes a light tan colour as oposed to black with the use of other fuels.
Nearly all cases of plug fouling I know of have been to bikes with carbies not ...

re: A friendly nod
I nod or raise left hand to mainly sporbike riders and the occasional motard down the Go road. I wait for cruiser riders to nod/wave first then return the gesture. Given up nodding to trailies as I've never gotten a nod back.

ZZR600, help needed!
Put a new set of rings and had the head ported recently but cannot seem to get the timing right. Can anyone help with a workshop manual, regarding the correct procedure for setting up the camshafts.
Bike is a 95 ZZR600.
Thanks
Gerry.

re: Exhaust for ZZR600
"Good old seat" was removed due to work being done on the bike, as for it being a modification, thats being done soon with race fairings.
And I never said it was a race bike.

re: Exhaust for ZZR600
This is the 600 I recently aquired for the track. Yes it is a ZZR but far from standard. It's a 4 into 1 with megacycle muffler. The bike is alot snappier in the throttle as a result and sounds absolutely awsome shifting just before redline down the Island straight.

re: Exhaust, dB and the police...
I was done with my zx12r in 2002 while running it in at Kinglake Victoria.
The Police were waving over all sportbikes into a parking bay where the EPA were set up testing noise levels. I was not about to rev a new motor to the rquired revs so after a heated disscusion I was tested at 3000rpm and ...
