Sorry Rossco66 - I hadn't spotted your response...
Anyway, I managed to score another fluid reservoir which stopped the leak.
I also scored another set of calipers, master, cable and lever from what must be a later model Z1R.
There are 2 differences - firstly the pistons are 42mm rather than 38mm ...

Re: 78 Z1R project....
Well spotted Brett - unrestored 1977 UK Parakeet Yellow model - just like the one I bought brand new back then (except a lot straighter than that one ended up)!!!

Z1R Front brake reservoir
Hi guys,
I have a leaky front brake reservoir - seems to be leaking through the join.
Anyone know what I can use instead - these seem to be extremely rare items - I've been looking for a while...
Been looking at these - maybe they can be made to fit somehow? Is the hose that goes to the master ...

Z1R D1/D3 Footrests
Hi guys,
I know the rear footrest design was changed between the D1 and D3 models but does anyone know if the D3 rear footrests fit (or can be made to fit) the D1? The rear pegs are completely missing from the bike.
Also, can the footrest rubbers (front or rear) be bought separately? The parts ...

Re: Anyone recognise these?
Thanks Dave. Looking at the parts list I can't see anything similar including the muffler fittings. Which I won't be using anyway! I will keep in a safe spot in case there is a future revelation!

Anyone recognise these?
Hi all,
Just bolted the Z1r motor back in yesterday and found these brackets in the bag of engine mount stuff but don't remember them and can't see a place where they might belong.

Re: 1978 Z1R Oil Pan
Many thanks - I had painted the rest of the motor and the oil pan was unpainted when I pulled it apart, but it looked a little odd on the engine stand with the pan "au natural".
Will look different when it is back in the frame I guess - hopefully this weekend.
Cheers guys.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the Oil Pan on the Z1R D1 was painted black or unpainted?
Thanks,
Ian.
