I ride every day from Quakers Hill to Chatswood - a 73km round trip, most of it on the M2. I average about 40 minutes each way, but on busy days I must save at least 30 minutes compared with taking the car in. Most of it saved by riding down the breakdown lane when the traffic backs up on the M2. A ...

Could it be the racer's crouch? - it's tough on your neck, you can't always rely on you mirrors when lane swapping/splitting and looking over your shoulder while in the doggy position aint easy (that's why its the favourite for wives with ugly husbands ). Do you get headaches too?

I've been doing a ...

As you are only halfway through the job - a few more tips:

1. get a low-range torque wrench - 20Nm isn't much. Failing that, use a very short handle on your socket and just nip them up.
2. you'll need a micrometer as the size marking/etching on the shims is not always legible.
3. the good news is ...

We haven't heard from Slow and Wobbly for a while, so I expect this post may be a little late to help. Have you finished the job?

I did the valve clearances on my ZX9 F1 this time last year at 24,000kms - a bit of a daunting job at the time - although I'd done the same job on a KLX650R it's a much ...

New R1??

IMAGE - it's no good asking me about image, I reckon the E/F series ZX9 look better than any of the current crop of litre bikes - I also quite like the look of the 954 'blade and the 2002 R1 in silver and grey (a ZX12 looks like a block of flats parked beside it).

SUBSTANCE - we've had to ...

I've got a 2000 model Cagiva Raptor 1000 (as well a a ZX9 F1) - the TL1000S motor is one of THE great motors - if a bit lumpy low down and a bit thirsty - but if you're used to a steady diet of sub-litre fours, you'll be blown away by the sheer mid-range grunt of the thing. Handling is also great ...

I did the valves clearances on my 02 ZX9 back in February at 24,000km - in my case all the inlets went down 1 shim size and the exhausts went down 2 sizes. I was able to swap across 5 shims between valves and I went into Team Moto who swapped out 4 shims for me.

In fact Team Moto Parramatta had a ...
