There are doubts about Gresini continuing at all. San Carlo apparently sponsored them on their belief in Simoncelli, and now Aoyama moves to WSBK too.

Devastated!! Was also watching world cup but watched accident on YouTube and immediately feared the worst. Such a dreadful week in Motorsport after the tragic loss of Dan Wheldon. Can't imagine how Rossi mostly, and Edwards are feeling

Poor old Marco, signs up to race the factory Kawasaki MotoGP bike... then they quit. Signs up to the factory Yamaha WSBK squad... and they quit. Must be tough

I read an article in one magazine a few years ago, that the old 'duck-billed' Suzuki MotoGP bikes front fairing was designed to help with downforce in trying to keep the front end down. They're doing a lot better without it now though

Not the first time the Japanese factories have withdrawn from WSBK (remember Hodgson's 2003 Ducati Cup win
) they survived that period and are still going strong. The Ducati factory might be gone as well now too, but they're still on top
