Re: I let the smoke out.... Now what

Haven't done any of the above but it was running perfectly until it started smoking (even then it was running fine, I killed the engine as soon as I could to prevent further damage). I did recently change the water pump with one of a zx7 as the old one was leaking from the weap hole, and the one of ...

Re: I let the smoke out.... Now what

Coolant is now empty (at least the bottle). I've removed the water pump to see if that was siezed and water came out so still water left in the water system, and no the pumps not siezed). Could just be the head needs to the torqued down. Might check the bolts today and see if there out. Also by ...

Re: I let the smoke out.... Now what

Yep, water went into the crankcase, was all milky and spilling out the head gasket (producing the smoke)

I let the smoke out.... Now what

Hi guys, long time no post... Or read for that matter. However, I need some advice if I may. About 1mth ago, I was riding along and noticed a fair bit of smoke around, then realised it was all coming from me... Somehow the bike managed to throw the water in with the oil to not a great effect. Anyway ...

Re: Bought a Trackbike!

Just need to buy a ramp and jockey wheel / front stand for the trailer
Wouldn't bother with one myself, never a good idea to try and load/unload without the trailer "firmly" attached to the car, trust me i have tried (a few times) before :p and by leaving off the jocky wheel, you can never forget ...

Re: Insurance

I have just 3rd party comp on mine. Youi came out the cheapest, (against about another 9 companies) however i ended up going with Insuremyride as they also covered my gear (which is close to the value of the bike) from memory they were the only guys that did this.

Re: E1 ZX9. My worst nightmare, cracked frame

^That really sucks :( Would it not be worht a phone call or email to the ACCC. Pretty sure this woud have to fall under some sort of resonable standards clause, and a phone call/email isn't going to cost you a cent. Just a thought. As for selling it, i don't think anyone would buy a bike knowing ...

Would it not be straight foward to drill a hole through the bottom of the cap to then fit a silencer?

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on this, as after a bit of reading through old posts, it looks as if everyone waits till a bit fruther down the track, so i thought i'd see ...
