twin headlight conversion for '07 zx6

we just bought a black 2007 zx6. rather nice bike if i might say so myself.

one thing i don't like about it is the headlight configuration - one light running at low beam, at high beam the other light comes on.
when we were looking at '05-'06 zx6's a number had twin headlight conversions (ie both ...

zx6 prices in eastern states?? WTF?

Ok i'm looking at buying myself a '05-06 zx6 since the wife now has my (lowered) '02 as her bike now.

Why is it that an '05/'06 is around $9k in qld & nsw, yet the same bike is around $11k in vic? (i'm in vic, or this would not be an issue for me obviously!)

I'm considering buying a bike ...

Re: lowered the 636.. now the sidestand.....!!

hi guys,

thanks for the replies

tracked down a 02 636 stand from a wreck. $40 sounds reasonable (more reasonable than the ebay one at least!)

next to work out angles & hights. luckily i have a tig welder at home...

lowered the 636.. now the sidestand.....!!

Ok i put the lowering liks on my 636 this weekend so that my wife, now off restrictions can ride a decent bike. (she has a cbr250rr)

obvious problem - had to use the lowest link, so bike almost sits upright now on the stand (& that's before i drop the front)

now i know i have to cut down the ...

Re: zx6 frame sizes (which year is bigger)

hmmm... interesting!!

i find it interesting that my wife fitted over a stock 2007 bike easily, yet would have major issues riding the 2002, with both supposedly having the same seat height! i doubt the seat width would vary that much!

think i need to find a 2005/6 for sale somewhere & have a look ...

Re: zx6 frame sizes (which year is bigger)

So you are saying that the '02 is lower than the '06??

Out of interest, what's the seat height difference between an '05-'06 & an '07?? anyone?

zx6 frame sizes (which year is bigger)

I currently have a 2002 zx6. Wife will be off her restrictions shortly so she will get the 02 as a runaround to get used to a bigger bike before we lash out on a much newer bike for her (she wants a black 2007 zx6)

Now we've looked at the '05 zx6 & an '07. The '07 is much smaller than the '02 ...

zxr-750l1 front sprocket

is the front sprocket on a zxr750 he same as a later zx7? or zx9? mine is starting to show signs of senility (didn't look too bad 500k ago) so i figure if i'm going to pull the bike apart for a respray (kawasaki pearl blue here we come) i might as well do everything at once.

i know there has been ...

zxr-750 l1 timing chain replacement

well i've always had top end noise in the zxr - finally took it down to an "expert" who diagnosed worn chain rollers. so time to replace the chain!

now when the motor was apart, this would have been very easy to do - i did speak to another supposed kawasaki expert (he even worked for kawasaki ...

rechroming zxr forks - pulling the buggers apart!

did a quick search & came back with nothing so apoligies if this has been covered in detail before.

my zxr has the p1 front fork upgrade. when i bught the bike the previous owner had the l1 forks rebuilt, but since i was rebuilding the whole bike & came across a p1 wreck i had to have the forks ...

hi ian,

have not run the bike for very long so far, but does not appear to be anything majorly wrong with the motor (yet) :) seems to settle down when the revs come up but really have not ridden it due to no bodywork, front brakes need to be bled up, tyre pressures checked & the throttle cable was ...

zxr750 mechanical noise at idle??

hi guys,

bought a zxr750 l1 a few months ago with a motor problem. was quite ridable, but had a bad blow-by problem due to previous bad cylinder repair. (cracked ring i believe)
motor was noisy at idle as well, so when i fixed the cylinders i rebuilt the bottom end as well.

all bearing clearances ...
