Re: NEW PLUGS

Thanks Bill,

Looks like the iridium equivalent of CR9EKs might be CR9EIX.

I bunged a turbo on a Datsun 40 years ago and had to run colder plugs. With the extra cylinder pressures, I had to replace them twice as often. Up until the point where I fitted electronic ignition and then they'd last ...

Re: NEW PLUGS

If there's any risk running the hotter plugs I'll pull them out. Having just bunged them in, I now know it's not such a hard job.

Checking the net for plug prices, I found Spark Plugs Direct in Sunbury Vic. They're charging $10.05 per plug and free shipping for orders over $49. Five plugs gives me ...

Re: TACHO GLOBE REPLACEMENT

Yes LEDs will only work ONE way. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. And diodes are devices that allow current to flow in one direction only. Current flows only in the direction of the arrow on the diode.

One diode on an AC supply will convert AC to DC. But the reverse current will be lost due to ...

NEW PLUGS

I just fitted new NGK plugs to my 2006 ZRX1200. Just pulled out the factory plugs after 14 years and 34,000 kms.

The bike had become hard to start. Speaking to mechanics, some say that the plugs don't need to be changed at 34,000 kms. Others say that they need to be replaced at 24,000 kms ...

TACHO GLOBE REPLACEMENT

Guys,

How hard is it to replace the light bulb in the tacho? Mine's blown after 14 years.

And is there an LED upgrade available these days?

Re: KAWASAKI 1000SX: THOUGHTS?

Well Fun comes to mind, great fuel range, light ,low down torque and a 6th gear that is a overdrive gear ,comfy seat just for starters. There is a guy on here that had a great zrx as well as many bikes and he loves his z900RS.Feel free to chip in Phil. ;)

The comment about the ZRX being a bit ...

Bullitt: How does a Z900RS compare to a ZRX1200R? The ZRX1200R is my yardstick? My beefs with the ZRX1200R are low fuel range, uncomfy saddle for long rides, a bit revy at 110kmh with only 5 gears.

How does the Z900RS compare to a Ninja 1000SX?

Re: Discounts on New Kwakas??

When I bought my ZRX1200R new at the end of 2006 the dealer knocked $2000 off the retail price. Discounts in the thousands - unheard of today?

The local dealer is offering a ZX10 at $5k under recommended price but that's probably because it's a 2018 model and it's now 2020. It's a shame it's not a ...

KAWASAKI 1000SX: THOUGHTS?

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback on the ZX-14. I'm now after feedback on the 1000SX. What are the positives and negatives if I trade the ZRX1200R in on a 1000SX?

I've read that the 1000SX has a comfy seat and a range of around 350kms. Is the seat better and the range (to empty tank) superior to the ...

Re: Handling: Kwaka ZRX 1200R vs 2020 Hayabusa

Yep. Around 250kms from a tank. It's a little bit range (and long walk to the next servo) anxiety. And it's a little bit the case that servos aren't conveniently spaced to exactly match the maximum range of a ZRX tank. If I had a 5L mower can in my back pack I might try running closer to empty ...
