Theres a retirement village accross the road in newport that give you a free sunhat for all permament residents!! and some sun resistant lippy
and a walking stick

and some adult nappies, the good type with the elastic sides and really absorbent linings

Hopefully soon they will arrange my Prozac/Viagra daily dose via a permanently-attached catheter........

my brother owns the twelve and i until today i owned the ten... two completely different bikes.. i could go fast for a while on the ten, handle tighter bends and it was superlight... but i can go superfast all day on a 12 over distance. Out the road the 12 is much more suited to high speed long distance hence "supertourer"... but the ten feels like having a rocket strapped to your arse and a very nervous one indeed...

The 12 is the ultimate. I cant believe anyone could ever doubt its presence. Pure adrenilin is the perfect description for this mighty machine.

I agree, 12r's rule. Some of u might remember before the crash of 2005 (forum server) I did a deal with the mrs and swapped some white wiggleys for a bike (yet to sign on the dotted line so to speak). I had my heart set on a 9 but once I rode the 12 it was all over. I love it. My street of 10 houses now has 2 x 12R's, 2 x K5 suzzies, a apprilla 1000, a virago (yuk) and a coupla hardly's oh and the kid accross the road has a pocket bike, and my 12 sounds the best, king of the street!

The 12r's a good bit a kit but i wanna know what you fullas are going to buy next since your now in the situation of we 9r owners without a new model next year.

My 9r is that good if it Ever dies I'm going second hand 02/03 Black frame, Muzzy big bore kit (998) fitting z1000 injection & buying another set of lambswools.

neither. The 12 will do me forever. :P Did a stint back from Goulburn to home tonight, and without going into *fine* detail, lets just say that it took *considerably* less time to do this trip than it does to watch 48 Minutes of Bullshit and 12 Minutes of Commercials - Without the Commercials  Mmmmmm, acceleration like a Saturn 5 rocket !!

All us 12 owners need Ponti, is a good Ti 'zorst ( save a few kg), a PCIII, and we will already be *matching* ( or very close to it), an '06 ZZR1400  what more could a man want ( except some comfy lambswool for those aching 'roids   )

Gosling1 wrote:Here's an announcement - 3 weeks ago, I obtained the full Factory specifications of the Ninja ZX-14 from my local dealer.

Dry weight, *alleged* around 230kg......ZX12R dry is 210.

*Alleged* hp - Yes, around 200hp claimed at crank, should equate to around 180-185 at rear wheel or thereabouts.

same engine with a bigger bore, same forks with slightly re-worked internals to cope with more weight

I am hanging to see one in the flesh

Now Gosy, I'm not one to cause a shit fight (oh, hang on, yes I am  ), and I certainly don't want to say that your information is dead-set wrong, but....

If the brochure contains full factory specs, then surely it wouldn't have "Alleged weight of:" ? Are you saying Kawasaki don't know how much the bike weighs? Rumours currently doing the rounds are that the 230kg being thrown around the place is the wet weight. Without knowing how much oil and fuel it holds who knows what the dry weight is?

Several websites have now made claims that Kawasaki have decided to re-tune the 14 to get a little more HP out of it. They came out and said it was going to be the world's most powerful motorcycle and then MV announced their new 200hp MV F4 1000 SBK! When Kawasaki launch the 14, it wouldn't be much chop if they claimed it was the worlds most powerful motorcycle if it was only 201hp...

As for the engine, the claim is that it is an all new engine. Not some bored out POS 12 motor  How much of it is actually new will remain to be seen.

I to can't wait to see one of these things in the flesh. I nearly wet myself when I think about riding one! I'm certainly not saying the 12 is a dud-bike. I've lusted over them for many years and they have certainly been under-rated by those that don't know any better.

But, I think it's time for Muhammed to realise he aint the heavy-weight king any more.

Bring on the 14 and pray that it's every bit as good as Kawasaki are making it out to be!
