12R owners, have your say!

Postby Jonno » Mon Nov 14, 2005 9:36 pm

hehe just kidding, wanted to know actual numbers here of owners or previous owners. Thanx.
Cant go past a 12R!!!!!!

(might even allow other over litre class bikes to have there say)

I also want to take this oppertunity to mention the only thing the 6R & 9R has given the 12R is the ratio of bore/stroke, all else has come from the 12R to other bikes from the testing and developement since 1998. Aerodynamics was huge for the 12R, the scoop, fairings and frames all are 12R. So what I am saying is I am tired of people saying a 12R is just a bigger 9R coz it aint. It has been written in the silver book which came with the first 12R 8)

What do you think?

With a single pipe system conversion on the 14 and a relagation of the centrestand to boat anchor status I reckon you would be in trouble. They ain't that much heavier.

But the 12 is still great for a little bike.

Mate, what do you know about little?

Oh thats right ya farkin' jockey.hahaha just kiddin again. Read the title  If ya aint ridden one what would you know? still i liked you replying :P

ZZR14? pfft, I gave up a good ZZR1200 for the best smokin' everything of all time bike, not gunna go back to a tourer soon at all. Its a fat arse high powered 200hp crank bike, take away the extra weight to power and the 12R has 6 hp more, shorter, better, will actually corner well for a big bike, and the design is now spot on as the have not changed a thing in 3 models besides paint. Spend a few grand on it and you can have a 12R at 200crank hp easy, so for me to trade to it will be fruitless. Still the figures I believe it will produce is a pure guestimate, I am waiting for the release of such information. Test rides will be the ultimate. Hmm, how many will buy one? people who have 20k+ for a start, older 50 year olds for ego as it is an ego bike imo so far. It might get me, but it will take alot too impress me over the awesome 12R.

My 3 cents worth.

*NODS* maybe I wont be so nice and say "ya cant get past a 12R" but thats mood dependant on the day. Well Gos I know sometimes ya just couldn't be stuffed proving anything as ya know it is irrelevant anyway on a bike that smokes anything from factory. Sometimes ya gotta smoke a poser or ricer and sometimes ya don't, it is an everyday occurance and nothing near redline, SP2 today had a crack, it was fine, very fine, he had a close look at what a rear tyre looks like but yeah thats the closest except for the bronze 02 busa I have been with. Anyway it is mostly rider dependant at this level, busa, 12R, budgiebirds, hammercycles lol, Gixxers. It's all about balls to the seat, small capacity ain't got shit on a road run with these bikes.
Race tracks? go for it if safety is your thing, 2 seconds on a real road don't mean shite, in the real world the road is the challenge not the same corner for 25 laps that to me can only teach you so much, road knowledge you will never get from the track. ok thats why I started this thread as most big bore owners are humble and know what it is to be on an awesome 12R!

Cant go past a 12R!!!

cheers little kidz...all fun in the sandpit of life.

12R's....aren't they just a big 9?

I was looking at one today actually, the frame is quite interesting and also leads to it being so tall, wonder why they didn't slant the engine forward more :?:
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...
