.... who would be happy with a ticking noise all the time? not honda riders!

That's because the noises stop them from falling asleep when they are riding their boring as shit vanilla motorcycles  ....and their mums won't let them go to sleep without a nice warm milk first.

Don't worry, other brands have their problems too, anyone remember the first VFR Honda's and the cam problems

The distinctive sound of a Kwakka engine isn't a problem, it's a characteristic.

Geez lurpee we will have to catch you and wash your mouth out with solvol, would be inclined to try another mechanic first maybe alex but i supose you are locked into darcy now.

mate if i was into revving mine to 12000 rpm and dumping the cluch and it blew up i wouldnt wonder why i would just buy stronger items as a replacement.

mechanical things are never indestructable things and need a bit of a sensitive hand at times, probably helps if you have pulled a few things apart and understand why it does what it does....gearbox dogs and how a clutch works...and the occaisonal 5 grand engine rebuild because some stupid fucker that works for you couldnt be bothered checking the water and stuff like that.

ohh and on the topic my 636 also ticks a bit but its either a fuel injecter or a timing chain tensioner and yeh they rattle a bit but if it changes into a knocking sound shut it down. :D

wheres the solvol. qleft1.gif
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I've had 3 different Kawasakis over the last 20 years. Owning a Kwak is like joining the army, every day is a new adventure. I don't think any of my bikes have made the same noise on 2 consecutive days. Used to worry about it when I was a bit of a lad, but soon realised that unless it required ear plugs to ride and you were picking bits up off the road behind you, then it's all good. They make some of the weirdest noises imaginable but keep going strong. It's a bit like leaky pommy bikes 30 years ago. You can just call it character and laugh it off. Makes no difference to the bike. It just keeps plugging away. Would I buy another brand? Shit no!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet, was just hoping it wasn't the beginning of a problem, as yankee seems to be going through.

1. Fuggin great motorcycle
2. Strange ticking noise

They should write that in the owner's manual
