Pic's of 06 R6 look great apart from those extra stickers on the upper faring, I reckon it would look better without them (just a solid color).

As to the R1 vs 9 depate......

I prefer the 03 R1 (in silver please)
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...

As for "allroundability" the 9r has no equal

Now, I haven't ridden a ZX9R but I had a good stint on a VFR800 yesterday and I have to say that they're furgin awesome - the only thing that bothered me was the VTEC kick but a Power Commander would soon fix that.

Interested in opinions from people who aren't one-eyed and have ridden both?

There is no such thing as a traitor,if you cant appreciate a nice bike no matter who makes it then your really not a bike lover, the stickers are just stickers, ask yourself if the 06 r6 had kawa stickers on what would your oppinion be of it? the same as jason just said im sure!!!!!!!!as for my oppinion on the 06 r6 it looks shit hot,not that much different to the 05 really just from what i can see from those pics is the seat, exhaust, very little bit of difference at the front end and the tail light which i dont really like myself,i think the 05 looks heaps better from the ass end imo, once i get the fender illimenater on mine you will see what i mean and the seat cowl, they make so much difference to the look of the 05 ass end i reckon, they look horny as,its just waiting for the funds to do it as they are both really expensive so if anyone sees one of the two on ebay or somewere please let me know with a pm or something,it would be a great help thanks. The blue looks really nice but the more i look at the other coulors the more i question wether i picked the right one....The black looks shit hot and they had to order it in so me being impolsive i had to have it there and then if you know what i mean.
If anyone came on the last overnighter they would agree im sure that the fzr would not have made it through the next three weeks and then i would have lost the trade in which i needed to get this bike so there was no chance i was going to risk waiting three weeks to get the black or red one and have the fizzer fall to bits on me in the mean time,i feel so sorry for whoever buys that bike, the machanics are great but i did some pretty bodgy fix its to get it right to trade in,the will have alot of trouble pulling bits of it without an oxy lolol.had to do some last minute welds on her to get it through the trade in things they wanted done before they would take it so i had no choice without being out of pocket to fix them so weld it was :D :D Anyway the point of this was about the 06 r6 and i think the 05 is not much different so like plasma said do my own mods for that bit of extra power and for those custom looks we all love to do on our new bikes,my baby is staying put thats for sure and ill take plasmas advise and just do some of my own mods when the bank lets me that is(HEHE)and make her my own customised baby and hang on to her for a while yet,it was just a question to get others inputs on the matter so thanks for all the replys and helping me make my mind up 100%,it was already 99% just needed your help guys and girls to get me over the line thats all so thanks heaps.

I may be in the minority, but I reckon the best looking R6 was the first generation. I think the '06 looks ugly. I'm not that keen on the ZX6R's looks either, so noone can accuse me of bias!

Just my opinion.

You reckon?

That kick comes from the motor doubling its valve curtain, not the usual emissions dip into lean running.

I've only ridden a couple of Klingon VFR's, no VTEC ones, and it's easy to see why so many people are so devoted to them. Compared to a ZX9, the only comfort advantage they have is the (much) narrower tank, but, for me, that's offset by the higher bars, which make it more difficult to slouch right down onto the tank.

Engine-wise, the VFR's got more character, but the ZX9 simply pisses all over it in terms of outright performance right through the rev range.

The VFR's probably got the more intrinsically capable chassis owing, again, to it being so narrow, but it's hobbled by being typically-Honda tail-heavy, hung on pretty unsophisticated suspension and retarded by those linked brakes, in contrast to the ZX9 on all three counts.

The ZX9's a cushy sportsbike, the VFR a very sporty sportstourer. Provided you can put up with how wide the ZX9 splays your knees, you get more motor, more suspension and more brakes than on the Honda.
