After Cinishing a few jobs on the ZXR I got it to run off the battery and got the idle sitting OK but after giving it a few blips then a while more idling I turned it off at the key, turned away to grab something and the battery blew!
Nearly shit my pants to be honest!
Looks like 3 or 4 cells have given up and the battery was really warm afterwards and stayed warm for over an hour! Got a replacement battery but am wondering if it could be the regulator that's given up and is over charging the battery?
Is there any way to test it before I put in the new battery or is it worth just replacing the regulator?
Other than the obvious issue it was a good day as the engine ran without smoking heavily and only have a small ticking to trace but that could be because I've taken the smog valve off and have simply connected the hoses together! Saw it done like that on another ZXR!
