You will probably need to source a new unit - there are a few turbo specialists around the place, but you will need to go to Sydney or Brisvegas to get to them. It is remotely possible that a wrecker somewhere around the country may have a 2nd-hand turbo for your bike - use Findapart to put out a request to all the wreckers for one ....

You will need the OEM headers if you can get them, but even if you can't, any decent turbo mechanic will be able to get you a set of header pipes bent up to suit. It will cost a few bob.....but very do-able.

What about the OEM fuel injection - is this still fitted to your bike ??

Try the wreckers around Coffs Harbour, I'm sure he wrecked one a while ago. I know that Joes Motorcycles/wreckers in Canberra has heaps of parts for the GPZ's, maybe a turbo assembly perhaps. Trouble is, he isn't cheap and you will pay top dollar for it. Ebay USA/Canada for a try as well with the dollar high. Still a good buy, I wouldn't be too disappointed you'll pick one up somewhere. :)

HI Gosling. yep it still has fuel injection and im 99% sure the header pipes are the ones for turbo setup just by checking out pics and diagrams of other bikes.

Good to hear it still has the fuel injection fitted.....

If the header pipes are still the 'turbo' headers, then they will all meet up right in front of the cylinder block.....has someone made some type of collector-box and a 4-1 system from this point ??? It would run pretty weird with an exhaust like this, as the header length for a non-turbo bike needs to be way longer than the turbo headers......can you post up a pic ?

Yes they are turbo headers they have made it so a straight bit of bike bolts to where the turbo bolts on to then it goes down to a y intersection so bike has a twin system with newish but genuine pipes and as for photos i spent near on 7hrs trying to upload on wknd but havent given up just got to work out how to down size my photos.

with your photos - just right-click on the photo, select 'edit', then in Paint, select 'Image' , then 'stretch/skew' - then change the small box from '100%' to '50%' for each of the 2 boxes which are showing. This will shrink your photo by 1/2. You can adjust the stretch/skew setting anywhere you like, but for big pictures, you may have to shrink down to as little as 30% of the original picture. Save this picture, upload it to your Photobucket album, and just link the image from PB back here. Its dead easy......

Sounds like whoever had the bike before you, has done a fairly dodgy job on the exhaust. With such a short length between the exhaust ports and the collector box, the bike will have a pretty strange power-curve .....
