Some random Ride photos....

Postby Gosling1 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 4:14 pm

Here are a few shots from a couple of recent rides we have had down here......one of them being a 'Swim Ride' over 3 days that was based from Corryong in Victoria. We had about 38 riders all up ?? Did 3 swimming holes over the course of the Saturday ( after a fang down through Adaminaby / Kiandra / Elliotts Way / Tooma Pub......mmmm)

Came home via Khancoban / Tom Groggin / Thredbo / Jindabyne / Dalgety / Cooma. 3 excellent days of fanging.......

Line-up outside Tooma Pub, Day 1.....

Cousin Jed Gosett was not interested in a swim at this stop.......

Saturday night was taking its toll......

A group shot at the pitstop 1/2 way between Tom Groggin and Thredbo, Day 3...

It was an excellent 3 days of riding and swimming. The Pearl had its first blast over Elliott's and did really well......if it wasn't for the shitty fuel economy, I would seriously consider taking it on the Snowies to the Supers WSB trip next month.......

That's of course only if you can find a road without roadworks, in all seriousness, NSW has to be the most fucked up state in the WORLD for roadworks..

Methodology: OK heres a 10 metre strip of bitumen with a pothole developing, let's fix it shall we!!!!!

Road crew goes to work, digs up said 10 metres of bitumen (let's disregard the fact that one metre would have been more than suffsicient). Now tarmac part of the road is all dug up and in the back of the truck, lets grade it and roll it so we have a nice smooth bit of dirt there for when we come back.

Now, we fuck off for 2 weeks or so go fix up some other part of the road we scrwewed up 2 weeks ago, let the wind, rain and traffic get stuck into the section we just did, then in 2 weeks come back to "fix it" properly..

Seen the above pattern time and again in NSW and it still floors me..
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Ease up Mick !! None of the roads in that trip had *any* roadworks at all....thats over 1000km of roads travelled over the course of the 3 days....

Some of the lesser-used outback roads can be a bit howyagoin', but by and large ( and its a large state - 6 times the size of Mehico), the roads are fine.

hey Gos, remember the trip up to Omeo a few years ago when we had to stop at roadwork what seemed like every 5k's. Would have been OK but it was bloody hot.
