Good choice of bike Harty :D .
Regarding the potential import tax, my jet-kit was held in customs till I could get the suppliers (Ivan's, in the US) to supply a receipt. As it was sent with no receipt, & customs were concerned it may be valued over $1000 aussie peso's. I paid $75us for it  .
As for the exhaust, I now run a Kerker Meg full system, thanks to Serco in Brisbane 8) . Prior to that I was running an IXIL carbon slip-on that I was very happy with, even had Honda riders complementing the sound it made.
I don't think anyone could deny the weight savings of a full Akro over std having seen pete's (plane). But if your happy with the current power, than a slip-on is definetly the answer for you :) .

I'm new here too, a bit of an old nut. Have had a 2002 ZRXS since new, being a Libran (balanced) I have a full ZZR1200 system on, looks great sounds similar to stock and out of the way of the oil filter. Looks great from the rear like my Z9.
Cheers

Below is a pic of my old Rex:

Image

Had a number of mods including a +4 Degree Advancer, Ivan's Jet Kit, Braided Lines, Ohlin's Fork Springs, +2 Teeth Renthal Rear Sprocket and the Akro Can.

Power was 123HP at the wheel at 8,250rpm but remained just as usable as the standard bike with torque up considerably throughout the range.... Go the Akro!

I now have a Tuono which despite my 'green' blood is the best bike I have ever had!! ;)

I've got the Rogue special on my ZRX, 4 into 2 system made up of ZZR headers ceramic coated and slightly modified, ZZR twin mufflers stock. Sounds good to me, looks great to me. Performance improvement, dunno but is nice and smooth.

I recently bought a Muzzys stainless oval system for my ZRX1200 from Starcycle. Cost was AUS $ 900 including freight.

Runs well standard, but you could probably jet it better.

What did you need to modify?

Bill,

Mounted ZZR12 mufflers on bike, drilled holes behind pillion footpegs to take bolts to support mufflers, then mounted header pipes (cut off mounting bracket for under engine) then plumbed header pipes to match up with mufflers, got a pro to do that.

You like the look?

Cheers

Listen! don't buy anything yet - i've just landed a muzzys full system for my ZRX for $700 from th US! it weighs 5 kilos and should shed about 13 kilos when installed which i'm in the process now! I also bought a jet kit and K&N filter and a Temperature gauge. Let me know if you want any more details!!!!

Bill,
Dunno on performance, I'm not really into that. I've had the bike since new, done 40k now. I reckon it runs as good as it ever has, probably feels smoother if that makes sense.

Yep, makes sense. I've had mine 79,000km, never misses a beat.
Had the cams re-done by Kawasaki at 50,000, new cam chain and rings.
Perth - Phillip Island and back 3 times.

I have found this site where I could purchase from the US an "Akrapovic Sport Production Exhaust System - Kawasaki ZRX1200". The cost is $728 USD plus freight $475 = total $1,203 USD with the exchange rate that would still be around $1,400.

If you decide to buy this system and you want it shipped back to Aus for free call me on 03 9331 0947.

I might get one for my bike as well.

Kind regards
