jpbikeboys ZXR900 Turbo dyno tune

Postby MBP » Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:25 pm

Jpbikeboy had his bike dyno tuned just before christmas to tune the new turbo and injectors after they went on and i tell you its the fastest bike i have every ridden to date.

Results were

Starting run - before tune but with the map from previous setup, with larger turbo + injectors = 168 rear wheel HP

After Dyno tune = 209 rear wheel HP @ 9psi boost, this is 245HP at the crank and it only weighs 185kg  .

Thanks for the ride JP  .

Cheers,

Matt

I have to say, i'm pretty happy with the result. I want to run more boost but i need more dyno time. i reckon i can run upto 14psi but we'll have to see. EXBEN got about 280hp at the wheel on his zx9turbo on race fuel. very cool. :D

saki, go to the muzzy website and look up their turbo'd zx10, those things are freaking insane, even the lower spec turbo makes massive grunt, i'd go nowhere near their stage 3 special though, nuts

This is the printout for Judge ( for those that don't know it's a 1998 ZX9R C motor) 5500 is when it all starts happening,6600 it's making more than a standard bike makes at peak, theres a bit of a dip at 8500 but Im buggered if I can feel it. :D Then up to double standard power. Lot's of fun to ride with either the rear wheel spinning or the front in the air or both! :D

Probably less so that you'd think.
A 9 can get around on the street reasonably comfortably in the 4-5000 rpm range.
Looks to me like there's just hell more to go when you want to give it a bit of stick
