You might need some help with an air-wrench to get it off. Or a 3' length of waterpipe on the end of the socket handle is also a good option..
mike-s wrote:also put something in there to penetrate the threads to help it budge. inox or penetrene. i used an electric rattle gun and had it almost stalling while i tried to crack the seal to rotate the nut off. Got it off eventually, but it was a right bitch to do. Cleaned the thread up with a brass brush and wd40 afterwards to make sure i got all the shit off there so it'd not screw up next time.

jmuzz wrote:Some ass had covered the entire thread on mine with loctite, with assistant hard on the brake and 1m pole over the socket bar thing it wouldnt budge (socket bar thing has 90deg bend in it now too)
Took it into mechanic, rattle gun couldnt do it, had to leave it with him.
Eventually got it off in a not very nice way involving a big hammer and big shifter![]()
But it wasnt budging any other way.
Also theres a folding washer (on mine anyway) so check you have bent that back down.

if its tht bad..to avoid stuffing threads and possibly doing other damage
i would use a nutsplitter... roots the nut ( a new one is cheap)
but its easy to get off Smile
