Hmmmm....

I dropped my CBR250R 4 times as a learner (twice u-turns, other two times, on sharp slow turns too).

Got the bike custom paint jobbed, never dropped it again. A year later, I'm pretty good at floggin the CBR over Mount Glorious/Nebo, done it so many times. Was riding with a mate, had absolutely left him for dead, going through my favourite section, got the knee down. But, had a stupid habit of keeping the bike in my lane whilst leaning into the other, cut it a bit too fine, rear tyre went over one of them square reflector thingies, and out she went.

Then, April of this year I think it was, I made the incredibly stupid mistake of lanesplitting to the front of traffic lights in front of a fucking Mack Truck. Needles to say, he, like every other wanker out there these days. Likes to keep edging forward thinking it'll make the light go green, and then try to anticipate it going green and hitting the gas whilst its still red, and ran up my arse. Dragged the bike into the middle of the interesection, VERY VERY busy intersection. Got some horrified looks for that one!

3. 7R, had it for a month and a half, just got outta home to go riding with the boys, winter, cold tyres, cold road, rained the night before so its still damp and greasy. Went round a tight left corner as we always do, still in residential areas barely 2ks up the road, and the arse just went out.

4. The latest one up Mt Mee. Amazing though, up until that point, Mee-Malaney, back from malaney, then over Mt Mee again I rode pretty quickly. And then when I went really stupid thanks to the tyres being so fantastic, some new tips cheers to redzed, I went too fast on a road I didn't know well enough and ended up in the shit.

Practicing emergency braking (and maybe whilst trying to life up the back wheel...). Got a little bit too keen, locked up the front wheel, all I remember was my precious area slamming up against the tank then me watching my baby slide. The rash hasn't fully healed, been almost 2 months. It was me being complacent, and wearing jeans at the time. And they were a really nice pair of jeans too... pity :)

Heya,

Well I had my first off about 4-5 months ago. It was up at Mt Tamborine. It was my first time up there cos i usually ride Mt Glorious and Mt Mee etc. It was my first ride with the overclockers club, I came around the corner seen the road was littered with rocks and did the newbie thing and tried to sit up
But since then I have learned soooo much, and I reckon thats all that matters

C'mon guys, trying to have a beneficial discussion here.
It is far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even if chequered with failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, as they live in grey twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.

Jeez, Matty how long ya got ?? I've been arse over elbow too often
Have mellowed in my later years (takes longer to recover when you're over 40, so I've calmed down a bit)
1st one was down to inexperience and the rush of youth......
car in front indicates right, I drop down a gear and rip it open up the inside only to find he had been indicating to overtake a parked car
2nd one, a car turned across me......choice was hit him or the double decker bus, tried for the rear of his car......broke left arm in 4 places, smashed elbow in right arm( made drinking beer extremely difficult until I learned how to hold the pot between the plasters and suck thru a straw  ), left leg in 2 places, cracked 2 discs in my back, punctured kidney & lung, collarbone and had to have my knee caps replaced with plastic ones and the wanker had the nerve to come over to me as I lay in the gutter and ask me if I was OK
3rd was exactly a week after being discharged from the hospital above...
70mph dragging my knee on a left hander the back wheel slipped on a drain cover, kicked down with left foot and thought fark that was close when the front hit the kerb......ground,sky,ground, sky and ended up back in the same hospital bed......
You want more ???
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

funniest one I had was :-
filtering between cars ( I think you call it lane splitting ?), misjudged the gap......car on the left pulled in the clutch, car on the right pulled on the front brake.........perfect forward roll over the top of the tank easily scored 10 for the landing and 8 for artistic impression

saddest was...
chasing a couple of mates on a KH250 decided to take the wrong way around a traffic island (honest guv, there was nothing coming when I went for it).........clipped a car coming the other way..........turned out to be the chief constable of Derbyshire's unmarked car

and on that note...to add to our experiences
in 30 years of riding I have been off 3 times
once off road..riding a Hoonda Xrsumfing..spat me off on a dune
the 2nd time???
had just got the GPx and rode it to Lorne (Gor an' all that)
but I went to see a holiday place up the back of Lorne that i once stayed at
..and a STOP sign had gone in at the end of the street...at the top of the hill
I got NEUTRAL..not 1st and fell sideways at 0kmh... no damage to me
busted mirror indicator brake lever stuffed can....
and the 3rd???
damaging to all.... rider and bike!
riding down the street following car
bloke in front suddenly decides to do a U-turn...
next to a NO U-turn sign and this also blocks the road
as there are parked cars in either side of the road
I throw bike down and we both slide to a stop just next to the car..
car? unmarked
me: busted kneecap and damaged knee ligaments
bike? scuff marks and scratches down can and fairiing
the knee clicks and I still limp......
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

I think its got something to do with apples ...... i remember vaguely some ol bag at me old almamadagra "Dubbo Daycare for the Divinely Disabled in Drag Design" raving on about some dead bugga being sconed by apples from a space shuttle or sumthin.
Gravity or some such nonsence she called it.

Seriously Matty I will add to this post. at this point I'm still trying to Work out if you want the Artistic crashes or the "shit thats Gonna leave a body Print in the tarmac ones first". I reckon I will give Rossi a run for his money on this topic.
Be back here later.
