Cowardly enough to run away! Who are you trying to convince with that statement. Me? Yourself? Or the young riders who read this forum? That is social programming. Do as I say don't do as I do.

For all you others I'll say this. The gaols of this country are chock full of brave young men, and women who stood their ground and took it on the chin when the cops asked them, "Did you do it?".

Get the idea out of your heads that the police are here to protect you and look out for you and that it is your civic duty to cooperate with them. They are definately not here to protect you! Look at the crap with the lebenese gangs. All that trouble occured and all those young girls got raped because the cops there backed away from the gangs in sydney. They ran away from their duty to protect, Cowards!

Here, read the truth for yourself in this article from Tim Priest, a retired detective from NSW. This is all common knowledge if you don't have your head buried in the ground or the lieing TV news every day.

http://www.quadrant.org.au/php/archive_ ... cle_id=581

You get in trouble in the city after dark or in your house alone and your on your own folks so you better learn how to look after yourself. The cops will go to great lengths to protect politicians, rich people and there own, but you and I are way down the list. Were the unwashed masses, fine fodder and promotion fodder.

In all fareness it's not all the cops fault, their bosses call the shots and they toe the line. But that doesn't matter a toss if a gang of thugs crash your party and it takes the cops 40 minutes to turn up.

If a rich bastard with influence gets pulled over for speeding, or his kid gets caught with drugs, the chances are they get off scot free. So take the hint! If the cops come to your door, don't answer it. If they pull you over for no reason and start asking a lot of personal questions, tell them nothing or you may find yourself set up for a crime you didn't do.

And if you have broken the law, cut out and cover your tracks, that's not cowardly, it's just being smart. You owe them nothing because as we all know most of the laws these days are bullshit anyway, they don't stop crime and they certainly don't make us safer on the roads.

Cowardly, that'll be the day! It takes courage to refuse the orders of an armed man and turn your back on him. Cowardly is giving up and surrendering your freedom.

I read the article chameleon, just so i could make an informed comment. It sounded like the writer is not only a racist, but also has a personal vendetta against the then commisioner Mr. Peter Ryan. It wasn't what I would call an even handed piece of journalism!!!

To this i say, what is the problem? They did a crime, then they admitted it, now they are serving time in gaol for that crime. Where's the problem?

And that is exactly the bad attitude that the writer of the article you seem so eager to support, says is causing the problems in the first place. Do you see the contradictory nature of your argument, or is racial prejudice, and hatred for authority blinded you totally?

Is there something in the water in QLD?

Bah. I wrote out a novel like response to you chameleon, but since you obviously think the world's out to get you, I decided against posting it because, what would be the point?

I give up.... you are obviously right.

Ninja, did you speak to your lawyer yesterday?

?!?

This would have to be pretty close to the single most dumb-fuck thing I can recall anyone ever posting to this board...

Yes, let's go driving around with a firearm in plain view in our car then complain when the cops take an interest. As Cletus the slack-jawed yokel asks in the (coincidentally?) gun-nut episode of The Simpsons, "Are you some kind of moron?"

Ooh, the devastating "I know you are, but what am I" comeback.

This was queensland, a long time ago. and if you wern't living here then you would have no idea!

On the available evidence, it would appear that the locals at the time had no idea, either... and in that I include the coppers.

What that cop was thinking doing anything other than pulling his revolver and sticking it in your face, I can't imagine. 3am, pissed, shotgun in the front seat... yeh, this guy's just out for some harmless fun. No way would he be on his way to settle a score with an ex or anything, is there?

But don't worry, you scored the points you were crawling for.

What points would those be?

Where did I mention race in any of my personal comments Strika? I didn't, but because you don't understand where I'm coming from you assume it. I'm not racist, far from it. And I don't 'hate' authority, I just know the score, that what the media portays is one thing and that the truth is usually far far from it.

I don't watch all the crap on the 6 O' clock news so my brain isn't filled with political correctness speak like yours is. I have lived through the Fitzgerald enquiry they had here, I have been in the clubs when the cops came by to collect the bribes. You want to live a dream world where everything is rosy and all the cops are honest that's your choice. I prefer to live in the real world myself, with all it's good and bad.

This isn't my opinion, it's personal experience that I have lived through. Say what further you all want but don't expect me to reply to. I've said my piece and I'll leave it at that.

apart from yourself no one has suggested that we live in a dreamworld where everything is perfect. However, just because one police officer is bad, I am naturally going to treat them all the same. Thats pretty logical. I find your attitude to the law quite distastefull. Nothing personal intended. I am sure If I was having a beer with you, you would be great company. However, even though I too have seen things which are not right with the way police do things, I have not taken to labelling them all. Shall I get that bucket and the tar for you???? (TM Neka)

As far as the 6 O'clock news is concerned, Sometimes I do watch it. Usually it's an alternative station rather than the traditional commercial network, but yeah, I look to know whats going on in the world so I can make informed decisions and not blind myself with ignorant prejudices.

If you are not racist, then why choose, a supporting article. That whole article has more bias and personal motivation than most of the commercial networks news coverage.

The fact is, this is diatribe motivated more likely than not by sour grapes from the author, than anything else. How much of it is the truth, and not a slanted or skewed version of the truth we will probably never know. But I read it to make sure I knew what I was talking about when I responded. The whole article reaks of a beat up more than the Big Brother Turkey Slap!!!!

The thing that gets me, is that there are still people living in the year 2006, who still believe guns are a good thing, and boast about it!

That's a pity, because Peter Ryan was quite the posturing, ineffective buffoon. But, because vindictive, self-aggrandising nutjobs like Tim Priest and Paul Sheehan have had such a go at him, both he and the government which appointed him haven't had to answer for their fuckups; legitimate, considered criticism gets lumped in with the hysteria.

It wasn't what I would call an even handed piece of journalism!!!

Quadrant tends to cater to an audience which considers Andrew Bolt, Alan Jones and Ray Hadley too pinko for their liking.

Well, for starters, the idea that jails are full of people who confessed to what they did on principle is... how to put this... um, retarded.

Astonishing. Figured that out all by yourself, did you?

I don't watch all the crap on the 6 O' clock news so my brain isn't filled with political correctness speak like yours is.

Yes, because anyone who watches tv, or reads the papers, instantly adopts the viewpoint being presented.

I have lived through the Fitzgerald enquiry they had here, I have been in the clubs when the cops came by to collect the bribes.

And, despite knowing this, you chose to conduct yourself in a manner in which encounters with such police become a virtual certainty.

Want to stay off the cops' radar, don't drive around pissed with a shotgun in your front seat and dont hover around a street late at night looking like you're about to break into a car or a house.
