but do they sell the same product or a generic version.
suspension is probably the most important part of the bike, don't wanna cut corners too far

mine was an "ikon" which is the same hardware as koni was, they just bought out the machinery and relabelled the kit they sold, my rear shock is pretty frickin good with damping and preload adjustment, but no rebound, but its certainly close to spot on for me.

the one which i got for my ltd450 was a "proven suspension" brand, was rrp on the net at a different site for about a grand for the pair, take it as what you will, but it was pretty good quality kit, both in appearance and in performance.

maybe BMC filters are better tho?

i could picture a BMC or K&N filter having similar flow rates to the stock item with the mesh removed, but being much better at stopping dirt getting into the engine... the K&N and BMC being cotton, the stock being foam :?

The only filter that will increas HP is the BMC Race.. But I wouldn't use it on the road.. I had one on the 9, its quite an open weave..

For later models I've heard the DNA filter will give slight HP increase over stock... none of the others do.
dunno, but I'm going to find out...

The suspension on my 9 was done by Kruze Tune and then me... It worked fine...

Best guy i know would be Trevor manly. He could revalve your standard unit and replace the spring if neccesarry. he can do nice things like add a reservoir if they don't already have one (I think your does from memory) and add compression adjustment if it doesn't have it also. I have lost his number as he has moved recently, so I will track it down and post it. :)

He did my forks and shock on my racer. He changed the front end to make it have high speed damping in one leg and low speed in the other. So now my old antiquated 1995 ZX6R has full high and low speed compression and rebound adjustment. Which is kinda silly really cause i can't tell the difference much  But it works well. I had all my stuff rebuilt, front and rear late last year and from memory (which is still pretty fcuked up from the 60's) it was about $1200.00 But he made a few other additional mods for me so yours may be less exxie. :)

Dunno how it works on the front strika but i can adjust low speed compression on the rear of my bike from cant feel a thing to ejection seat with the low speed compression definitly worth having. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

sssssshhhhhhhh
don't tell anyone.
i only got a month to go.

now....
after a good ride with stereo today, i've decided i don't really need any more hp, i've got plenty and it comes on quicker now i've gone down a tooth on the front sprocket, i just need to make better use of it.
soooooooooo
i'm thinkin the money will go into a rebuild of current suspension set-up through promecha, simmo gave em a good wrap, and tuning. (it smells like it's running a bit rich) and me thinks a few things are a little rattly so a good clean-up will help.

and i'm currently looking into a quick-action throttle mod as well. but not until i've done said suspension mods. i got enough head shake today to make a hippy feel sick.

fingers crossed ppl.

Braided Lines, Suspension Rebuild & the Stickiest Tyres you can get Vin.

Toss a Pair of Metzler RaceTEchs or Michilin Pilot Races on it.

If you have plenty of headshake I would be dodging the QuickActionThrottle until you get the bike SORTED better.

exactly what i was thinking brett.

all tho as far as tyres go, i've got a pair of pilot powers now (did have a dungflop on the back) and they really are a confidence inspiring tyre. plus, i do need to commute on it, so i don't want anything tooooo soft.

but the throttle is definately on the back burner untill suspension is sorted.

Was thinking about this on my long ride to work, and how best to explain my opinion...

In terms of P.I. lap times... (times are estiamtes)

Your bike is capable of lapping the island in about 1:45

Say your current time is about 1:55

Good after market suspension & set-up will shave around three seconds. 1:52 ($1200)

Sorted standard suspension should be about a second and a half 1:53.5 ($3-400)

K&N filters, dyno, rejets and the likes are going to be shaving tenths ($2-300), head work will shave a few more ($1000+) - but nothing like the potential 7the bike is already capable of. [edit] if you're not already using the bikes full potential, will this help? [/edit]

So what really needs the money spending on? Corner & Braking Course ($200) wee see a significant drop in your times - all four levels of superbike school will get you most of the way to the target time ($1600) - the price of decent shocks and a rejet 8)

good way of lookin at it mike.
but i ride this bike primarily on the road not the track.
yes my skills need improving, no doubt about that.
but improving my skills won't improve the feel of the bike, which is what i really need, to make use of my skills.

am i riding it to it's current potential? fark no.
i like knowing the bike is capable of more if i get in trouble.
therefore, if i increase it's potential, i can then work on my skills to ride to its current potential which is inferior to its future potential leaving me still at the point where it's got more if i need it and i'll still be going quicker.
