When I first joined the forum, I really didn't put too much thought into who reads this stuff. But maybe we are not doing ourselves and favours by publicising some things. Sure I have been as guilty as anyone here, and as mentioned, didn't put too much thought into it. However I thought it was worthy of some opinions!!! :)

Andy, this might come as a bit of a shock but... most roads unless they're a highway/freeway ARE 60-80kmh limits....

Hey I remember that ride!!! my first group ride ever!!! and was slow and wobbly (not much different now). Still remember Greg's red panzer droning behind me as TEC and kept him yawning wtf this guy doing 75 in 80 zone and 95 in 100 zone

I just think we haven't had such big turnout, they're relaxing and fun. With 3-5 bikes in a ride things get a bit errr... brisk

Having read that older report, it looks very similiar to most of the ones I have read recently ? :? "We all met up........went for a good fang......"...etc.

How much difference have you spotted with current reports ? Is it more a focus on speed ? I am really interested in this as you know, I love doing ride reports, and certainly don't indulge in any *fictitious* stories of speed or crazy antics, if I write it, it happened *exactly* as its written, and others on that ride can vouch for this.

Would be interested in others views as well, positive or negative, as its only this kind of feedback that can improve future reports...........and we all know there will *plenty* of them.........

OK I am gunna shoot from the hip here. I am getting comments that people have the opinion that I think I am some sort of riding "Expert"! That my ride reports are about ego, and not a reflection of how I enjoyed the ride :( . Well let's just get a few things straight. :!:

I write reports that are factual. What is written happens (although this may change a little in as far as how candid I now am). I write in a very matter of fact manner I understand. But I do not have a belief that i am in any way shape or form a riding "expert". Far from it. I have some experience. More than some others, lots less than loads more. I have some skill. More than some, less than lots of others.

If for some reason, you choose to read my ride reports, and interpret my comments as anything more than just a reflection of the fun that I have had on that ride, then so be it. But please, I would respectfully request that you keep your erronius comments to yourselves until you get to KNOW me. Then by all means judge your little heart away, as you will have some factual basis.

If I was, on a scale of 1-100 a rider in the bottom 10% in terms of skills and ability, and I wrote about passing another rider, then you would all be Woohooing and congratulating me on my improvement. Now I am not looking for praise in any way, but what i would like is just for you to read my ride reports or posts and leave it at that. I am sure I don't run around poking fun at others in this way, and certainly don't take too kindly to being referred to as conceited. Those who actually know me, know that I am as down to earth as they come. So therefore I take offence to being reffered to in this vein!

If posting a pic of my bike is conceited, then so be it......I just thought that part of what a forum was for, was for people to share there Motorcycling thoughts, Ideas, experiences, trials and tribulations?

If you enjoy my ride reports or posts, read em and hopefully share some of the experiences with me, or pull your head in and shut the fuck up!

Rant ends here. Normal service will now resume

IMHO A GOOD ride report is'nt about the roads or Speed or the authors bike/riding skill. It's about the People, the comradary, the pisstaking/laughing, about making others feel welcome & good about themselves & THEIR bikes/riding skills.

I remember a coupla years ago some clown reporting ina motorcycle magazine how Awesome the Great Alpine Way or whatever was & what a legend he was riding it at insane speeds. 4 weeks later it was chocka's with other bikes doing insane speeds & a coupla weeks later the Feds fronted up & they all got done & cried Foul

So yes some discretion is a good thing,

I was taking the piss Marty purely cause you Stood us UP twice then boasted about it. We were looking forward to Meeting & riding with you to see first hand your skills but you blew us off so maybe Sure you having some great Routes & write a good road conditions report. Which can bring heat down apon yourself or others that choose to follow those routes in the near future.
But moreover the Fact that you've joined a social Club & it appears you dont have any time to be social ?. Is'nt Life about Giving back & helping others ?.

Unfortunately ya cant Jump up & down too much about it Cause you chose not to buy a Kwika last time. As i understand "sure you can join KWAKAsrc if you ride another brand but you better have a damn good sence of humour".

Neka i'm worried about you son for a while there you sounding like an asset to KSRC now you're back in "Tool mode" whats with that ?.

Andi

thats a very interesting observation
'old time' rides with 15-20 or more KSRCians

Yeah I agree about being descreet in reports and admit that in the past I perhaps have not given too much tought to it. hence the reason I posted this in the first place.

Ponti I understand why YOU were taking the piss. As I would too if you didn't turn up for a ride. Even if it was because you had to earn a living. I also understand about giving back to an organisation, which I do whenever I can or am asked. I tend not to go to social functions much of any sort as I don't drink, and quite frankly even my best mate annoys the crap outta me when he is pissed. Try it next time your the only sober one  I also am still A Kawasaki owner, or have you forgotten a certain green F1 600 in my shed??? I have a great sense of Humour, however I take offence at being infered as conceited. I am far from it.

The QLD ride reports used to be:

"Cheeks orgainsed the ride, we had great weather, no one could keep up with Hammer, Ponti handed out stickers, Yappa stacked it, Red Dave got lost and RG ate fish...

Great day had by all... "

Cripes! Neka making more sense!

Yes, as far as I am aware it would need to be able to be PROVEN to be fact, big noting yourself on an internet forum is hardly evidence and a decent solicitor would tear it to shreds in minutes.
