actually, having another look at the topic, I would also say this -
A lot of the guys who race RD250LC's in Forgotten Era use steering dampers of one kind or another , so for *that* particular 250, a damper is highly recomended.
Keep asking questions about your bike HP, its the only way you will get to learn anything ( or at least get a heap of different opinions, some good, some not so good...)- the most common one, and correct, which is don't waste money on your 2fiddy, get it working well with a good tune-up, good tyres, suspension adjusted to suit you (as best as possible), and leave the $$$$ until you get a 600 or something bigger......
