in the short answer no

tank slappers are often caused under hard acceleration and the front end goes light , not many 250's have this problem

spend your money on getting the suspension sorted for you

why bother making improvements to a 250??!??!? I thought about getting an exhaust for my....for about 2 seconds and then thought if I wanted more power, spend the money on improvements on an ad, sell the 250 and then buy something bigger. The 250 goes quick enough for me at the moment anyhow...I mean, on public roads who needs to go faster than 120?

ahh but u have 950cc more to worry abt mate...

actually, having another look at the topic, I would also say this -

A lot of the guys who race RD250LC's in Forgotten Era use steering dampers of one kind or another , so for *that* particular 250, a damper is highly recomended.

Keep asking questions about your bike HP, its the only way you will get to learn anything ( or at least get a heap of different opinions, some good, some not so good... )- the most common one, and correct, which is don't waste money on your 2fiddy, get it working well with a good tune-up, good tyres, suspension adjusted to suit you (as best as possible), and leave the $$$$ until you get a 600 or something bigger......

not for the road. took me a while before i needed one on the 250GP bike

yea..and learn to ride the bike under all conditions b4 u get a bigger bike...if u can ride a bucking bronco...

I modded small bikes before,get nu then you trade it in and fin for it.

I kinda think that a steering damper on a 4 stroke 250 would be like fitting a really big spoiler fat tyres and flared wheel arches to a Toyota Starlet - the only attention it's going to get is odd stares and giggles.
