My heart says the Z1 but it think it would be very close and with the same rider I'd say the 250 :kuda:

muahahahahaahaha

back to business. That z1260 ridden by Albert Teheneppe - is a Z1000J-based motor, not a z9 motor. Massive difference. Alberts bike is putting out around 120hp or thereabouts, has excellent suspension etc etc blah blah blah.

A stock z9 put out 82 at the crank, closer to 70 at the back wheel. They wobble like a bitch over the ton and have SFA ground clearance....and you can't go fast on skinny tyres

My quickest time at the Island Classic last year on Billy's LC350 - was a 2.04. Almost identical to that time on the Ninja 250.......so I have a reasonable idea of how quick you need to peddle a stock z9 around the Island to match that Ninja time......and I reckon it would be just a bit difficult on a stock z9. Should be possible only because of the higher top end of the 900, but it would be a close race I reckon.

I have had the old z at broadford and i can tell u she wasnt that slow.mind u mine has 1015 kit with smoothbore carbs as well as drilled twin discs with braided lines and a new mastercyclinder. So i am pretty confident with me on board my nine u might be in a bit of trouble ;)
