Thought i was lucky , but not to be

Got a phone call from hornsby hospital today , they have been looking at my xrays and have
found a fracture on my left thumb at the base of the bone right where the socket / joint is,
on the inner side of the thumb facing my left index finger i think .
so there goes the speedy recovery
but if thats all ive broken from the stack then i think im pretty lucky

That's a bummer. Do they do anything to fix it or just leave it?
If you get a cast you can put " I crashed my bike and all I got was this lousy broken thumb" on it

and see a specialist to determined the best coarse of action for my best long term result.
