Plod Radar

Now, not that any of us exceed the speed limits ....
Butttt .... just say, on the odd instance, im sliiiiightly exceeding around a corner with a plod comin the other way ...
Now I know they like setting up in the straights, but Ive heard they cant get a fix on the mobile radar on corners ????? ..
Is this right? ...

they need to lock onto for more than 3 seconds to get a reading and most bend dont allow them to lock on for that long

Hence the reason I speed up for corners …………….to a limit of course have to keep safety in mind lol

I thought it was more like 1 second. And if getting your speed by pacing you, it has to be at least 800 metres. In NSW anyway...

Let me just say this....
There is a big difference between what is actual fact, and what your mate (or your mates mate) thinks are the facts.
There is a big difference between Police General Orders (guide lines) and legislated requirements.
I'm more than happy to discuss any of these matters in person. But since I'm on holidays, that's the end of any work discussion on here.

The bloke at the end of the bar at my local (he would never lie to me

) once told me that the radar has to take 3 readings, however long that takes, and also that it can only take readings in a straight line. Everyone seems to have a theory on these things and more often than not they are miles off the mark!
