Bar SBK Rip off

I must be a slow learner, for the third year in a row, I purchased bar SBK tickets for the supers. For the third year in a row, I couldn't gain a seat for love nor money in the designated areas. As such I have just written a complaint in to the organisers expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting a refund for the difference of what I paid and what I got! I'll let you know 1.if I get a response and 2. what the end result is if I do!!! I'm not holding my breath though!!
Good morning, just a quick note to both congratulate you and berate you for your fantastic organization of the World Superbike weekend yet again. Thanks for the great weather on Saturday and Sunday you did well. As always we attended both Saturday and Sunday and viewed all the practice, qualifying, racing and the trade stands as well as some other off track activities. This year, my wife and I again chose to purchase “Bar SBK” tickets. In previous years we have done the same thing and each year we have been the recipients of what we could only describe as “Not getting what we paid for!!” Bar SBK is advertised as an opportunity to take refuge, rest, relax, sit and watch the action and the big screens while enjoying a drink. Well, sure, I got into the “Bar SBK” area without issue, but this is where it all came undone as far as getting what you pay for. At each of the three “Bar SBK” areas, we were unable to obtain a seat! There was an amazing amount of space available for more people to fit into each area, however, there were twice the amount of people as there were chairs available. It would have been the same effect for us to not pay the extra and sit on the fence and get our drinks from the standard bar areas. It was very obvious, even to the security guards, who attempted to arrange more chairs after numerous complaints from other “Bar SBK” patrons, unsuccessfully however.

We were also restricted to drinking either Bourbon or beer!! All three locations did not have water available from about 11.00am onwards!!! I am pretty sure this is contrary to the ethical service of alcohol!! This is the third year we have paid the extra for “Bar SBK” and this is the third year that we have failed to receive what we consider, we paid to get! In the end, my wife was unable to attend race day, due to the lack of advertised facilities. We were both incredibly disappointed especially considering the weather which we could have enjoyed also! As a motorcycling event goes, we feel that you do a fantastic job in most areas and provide excellent facilities elsewhere, however, we do feel that on each of the three occasions that we have attended and spent the extra for the “Bar SBK” tickets, we have on each occasion not received what we paid for. We continued to buy the “Bar SBK” tickets in the hope that you would improve things, perhaps we are slow learners, however we are out of patience and doubt unless you can guarantee a significant improvement, that we will patronize this product again. With that, I would like to request a refund for the difference in the standard passes and bar SBK passes. As I no longer have receipts for 2006 or 2007, I would only request 2008 tickets be adjusted. I will provide proof of purchase when requested.

I look forward to your response and some resolution of this matter.

Fair enough....

Nearly always guaranteed a response if you mention your "safety" is compromised due to the lack of non-alcoholic beveridges......

So how much were the tickets to Bar SBK ?? Did they include free beer and bourbon, or did they sting you for those as well ??

What I don't understand is why you pay for entry into an area to pay again for grog ?? Is that how it works ?

It seems like nothing but a huge rip-off to me.

Fair Comments, apparently this year they were up on numbers,no excuse though, these things are what you pay for and you expect at least one of their cheap plastic chairs for the upgrade.Good to see Max Biaggi respecting the Lukey Heights BAR SBK crowd and dropping it right infront....

Ahhh...Pete my learned friend! That would be sarcasm!!!!!! You don't think I could be that nice on the surface without some sting in there somewhere do ya? ;)

Hey Gos, I think it was like 60 or 80 more and you still had to buy your own alcohol/softdrinks and as it turned out, take your own fuckin chair!!!! :?

Yeh!! it was only because I was by myself at the time of going to SBK bar, (on the straight) that I was able to get a seat - there was only 1x chair avail sitting alongside the fence. Certainly dont seem to get any value for money..., imho. I had actually purchased tkts in case of bad weather (have had to sit in Champions Cafe watching race b4 due to horrid weather), and tbh if the weather had turned bad, there wouldn't have been sufficient space for everybody undercover anway.... so yeh, dont know that I personally would consider SBK bar again?

Just my 2c.

Between the esky ventura bags, mitre 10 chairs and shade cast by the bikes (or umbrellas!) I think we had our own "bar" going on!

I'll say ! Bar KSRC - all we need is to get it right up against the fence (line) next year .....and Hoffy's gearsack made a great esky, I have no idea how, but it kept the jimmies cold for hours.....

While on the WSBK subject, could someone enlighten me as to what the attraction is in locating the KSRC crews at Turn 1????? :? I am sure there is a logical reason, but I am obviously just a bit thick and don't get it!

It's relatively flat and easy to access for those with families, there's plenty of room, it's close to loo's, booze and food and it offers the best view of the track.
