wow! this thread jumped 3 pages in one day! nice one!

chikky, pull your head in, duane is the master of mind games and is a much more experienced rider and member of this club than you appear to be.

Now if you're so hard-core and can't wait to get on a bigger bike, then do it.

I come off restrictions in July and i've had my 9 for almost a year now. I upgraded as soon as i felt i was ready. i did this for two reasons.
1. i felt very unsafe on my zxr250.
2. i wanted a bike that had more capabilities than me so that if i'm in a sticky situation, or going in too hot, i know i can trust my bike, and just tip in that little bit harder. hell, that's how i've improved my cornering speeds (to a certain extent)

end of the day, think before you post, and don't just blatantly attack people because they disagree.

Some of my best riding days were on a 250cc after I got my restricted license. I also know quite a few people that have kept on with just their 250 because they are cheaper on fuel, cheaper to maintain, lighter, and usually have a lower seat height or are at least narrower than bigger bikes.

So guys lay off the girls for a while. At least they are out riding as more women should be encouraged to do so. The max speed in this country is 110km/h unless you are in the Northern Territory and then it's open season.

If a 250cc can sit at 100km/h consistantly then they should have no need to accelerate past 160 in a hurry. If anything the 250cc rider would find it easier to avoid an accident because the lighter bike would brake better or would be able to manouver out of the way quicker (not by accelerating but by controlled braking and turning). I have spent quite a bit of time over the 160km/h mark and at 45 meters per second things happen pretty quick. Save that kind of speed for the track and not traffic, you may live a bit longer, well at least your license will. I've lost too many friends that were travelling too fast approaching traffic. Would you like to know of what kind of injuries they sustained that caused their death? I know and I wish I could be un-told.

People should try to obey the road laws that are written for, strangley enough, the benefit of us (road users). I mis-read ZZRCHIKKY's first post, I thought she was having a go at scooter riders in general, we discussed it further and the problem I had with her post was resolved. In defense of her I would have to agree if a vehicle can not keep within 20km/h of the posted speed limit then they shouldn't be on that road, be it a scooter, horse and cart, tractor, grandma and granddad etc etc.

I realise I dribble on too much so I'm going to shut up in a minute. I just want to say congrats to the girls that are riding GPX.Lainie and ZZRCHIKKY keep up the good work and safe riding.

Oh yeah, hey ZZRCHIKKY I've got something in my garage that would interest you. I'm currently restoring a 1982 GSX1100, great bike, so comfy and faster in a straight line than my ZZR1100. It has a 1300cc big bore kit in it, high lift cams, four into one system and a few other bits and pieces. It doesn't idle under 1500rpm and eats standard clutches like there's no tomorrow.

Shadow Keeper 8)
2000 ZZR1100

Well i have actually seen a couple of the KSRC chickies ride, and they go just as well as the blokes. Now as for scooters, i test rode one for the very first time last week, and its easy to see why so many people ride them. Now i must agree that the ones which cant do the speed limit on the freeways are annoying, but hey we all atart somwhere..

why are you so angry?
don't you like people having a go at you?
i doubt it. most people don't like it, even slow scooter riders....... or harley riders.

why do my comments really piss you off?
I'm flattered that my words have such an effect on you.

you haven't met anyone in the club?????

what i said about duane being a better member of KSRC, it just means he's been here longer and as a person in general, along with his riding abilities, he has earned the respect he gets.

no you don't need a tattoo, but do your time, and little bit of participation will go a long way to earning the same kind of respect.
