Peel off all the top coats & the vinyl base & you should be left with adhesive residue, use white spirit to dissolve the adhesive, if the paint is original it should not be affected, resprays .....any ones guess, just test a small area & be patient.
Do I strike you as a patient Bloke? :kuda:

Prepsol... works a charm.

would 'sticker on' help with putting on the pad? just to ensure its all centred and such

I don’t care how liberated this world becomes – a man will always be judged by the amount of alcohol he can consume – and a woman will be impressed, whether she likes it or not.

I hope this attaches right, but here goes.

I got mine and put it on this morning, I think it looks neat and hot.

Do not recommend it, anything you put on the adhesive will affect the of the sticker, be it water of professional liquid.... in most cases water & alcohol.
The cuts in the sticker allow you to conform it to shape & if you use masking tape as a guide you should get it on pretty straight.
Hint... lightly put in place & if you need to move it just carefully lift off & reposition, this adhesive is not as aggressive as some on the market.
The adhesive is pressure sensitive, meaning the more pressure applied & the longer it is on there the better the adhesion ;)

for those asking about the sticky stuff.. ummm the stuff left on the tank as you remove the other one (christ that's getting me in deeper I think)

I used Pledge. You get it from the supermarket in the cleaning stuff aisle.

cheers

Come on, I cant believe no one has said this yet!

Hairdryer, use ya finger nail and it will peel off in most cases and with some luck you wont have much shite left. Use alco wipes or isotyple? alco solution (look for it n a can) and a lint free cloth to remove the gum.

Use a sopy water spray before laying on the transfer (sticker) and you can slip it into place then leave the thing alone as it drys. Well thats how I do sticker tranfers on a big scale. Hey, it is how I do it.

Mate even for full vehicle wraps, we do everything dry ;) less complications later...... with soapy water it might slide ok but if there is any water not squeegeed out it will later turn into a bubble & could cause crazing in the vinyl ;)
