well this bike is finally almost done, now I have a new fiasco...
So I had some issues with this bike not running right, have only run my engine twice since getting the valve clearances "adjusted" at my previous mechanic, some of you would know who I'm referring to, however if you want the story, it's in my introduction thread, I'm not going to slander his name and I'm not going to tell you who but I am going to rant. The bloke took me for a ride.
Now, this week at my current mechanic I was told the valves were not adjusted, and 8 out of 16 were out of spec, so I paid this previous bloke $350 to do nothing. According to the previous mechanic, the reason the job took so long is because he had to have custom shims made up (just to do valve clearances took 5 weeks with a bare engine sitting on his bench.) this custom shims business was complete trash. I didn't say anything to him at the time because I thought it was over and he had done the job, wasn't interested in taking it further even if he had yelled at me and humiliated me, as long as the job was done and done right.
When I got this call, I left a bad review for his business on truelocal and google because I felt used and ripped off. Recently, he's contacted Truelocal and asked them to remove the bad review, now I have to substantiate my claims before they will publish my review.
I've replied back to truelocal advising I'm happy for them to remove the review, I shouldn't have done that in the first place, I'm not one to slander, but this has left me very weary of bike shop owners. Just out for the money, f%*k the service...
glad I found a new mechanic,
f$%k this place, never going back again.

Great that you've finally got it sorted!

It all comes down to how you ride it.....
Re: Aj's zxr250a project
according to the mechanic, just when I can find a tappet cover gasket ;D that's all I need!
Re: Aj's zxr250a project
It's been a LONG time, I've neglected posting as progress has been slow but steady, almost there now! Need to now just repaint the engine and fairings in 2K, probably going a low gloss jet black with some gold pinstriping.

Cheers

OOPS, have been forgetting to update this! Been riding WAY too much, have put about 20,000kms on the bike and come off of it once in the last year. Finished it a little while ago but completely forgot to update thread.
All plastic parts have been redone in PPG 2k flat black, side covers off of a FZ15 (Indian mini fazer, had to purchase the part while I was overseas.) I've now fitted a ventura kit and made a pillion seat since these images, I love this bike.
After a long time in the works:
