Mate i never take offense from you guy's. To me i take it as constructive critisim after all, I don't know my shit. All though it is hard sometimes to tell the difference if you guys are being serious or joking around with the solution's put forward.

@ Blurr, mate to you my shit may seem like general knowledge but to me its fairly new. You could say this, that my cherry for this incident has been popped and have learnt from it. But yea as i was saying normally, i take it you growing up either learned this stuff with the help of your mates who knew things about bikes , your dad ( my case an engineer who doesnt work on his own cars/bikes when he had them ) or you did a course as everything 20 20-30 year's ago was, if you had a problem you'd learn to fix it your self, as my uncle put it. Seeing as there are way more tradies then there were. I am just trying to learn mate, hence why i come off as cluess and stupid. Or the likely situation, maybe thats just who i am

Anyway's a quick update. After soaking the shit out of the ROTOR! the second time in the brake cleaner. Noticed the bike doesn't make as much noise compared to before. Still going to replace the pads. Better to be safe then sorry. For a novice would it be hard to replace the pads? or is it just simple as removing some screw's

Screws are used in house building removing a few "bolts" is good

Sorry just woke up a few minutes ago. Soaked the rotor not the sprockets lol. Can't believed i typed that shit. Guess i really am clueless and stupid lol. But yea wrapped a cloth soaked in the brake cleaner and scrubbed the shit out of it. Then left it on the bike for 2 hrs until the cloth dried.

If you have a mechanical mind changing pads is nothing, however I wouldn't attempt it on your own for the first time.

The first time I had to bleed the brakes on the 7 I lad here on KSRC (named Rob) come and help me. I had done it on cars too many times to count but never on a bike. The principle is the same, but someone who knows the shit is always a good idea

To your credit mate, you seem to listen and learn so that is great.
What probably doesn't help your cause is your over dramatizing of everything that happens and need to blame someone/something else. I think strika was right, If you where up on the front wheel, there's nothing wrong with your brakes. If after, you noticed lack of brake fluid it probably lost it in the crash

I actually look forward to each new zany update on your posts. They give me a laugh.

Btw. Don't use lack of daddy teaching you as an excuse. My dad died when I was 13 and before that he was bedridden and in a wheel chair so I had no one to teach me either.

I do find it amusing when I see a fully sick GTR on the freeway, like I did this morning , with a young bloke standing beside it while the emergency response changes his tyre for him.

A lot of the problem was the way u came across at the start, about this bike riding is a piece of piss, and after a 1,000k u knew it all, now u realize it aint...
But u are trying to learn and listen so happy to try and offer help.
I hope someone does take the time to help u, and as i said, take u out and run thru it all with u, if u were in melbourne i would come and help, then u can come riding, and run up my arse and take me out as u said... just takin the piss with that
I dont like seeing riders hurt, or killed, ive lost way to many mates this way, 9 in 1983, and was there when a few of them happened.
So hopefully with a bit of time and experience u will get there, bikes are a great lifestyle and a lot of fun... but they do bite and bite hard when things go wrong, so learn and keep it sunny side up and u will be fine

Yea, I sort of came out at the start joking around in the hopes to be the club's troll. My fatal flaw was instead of cutting the joke short. I added fuel to the fire and continued to act a damm fool. But yea your right. Mastering the bike is no easy task, It's hard. Anyways, I went down to granville tafe looking at what course was avaliable got a cert 3 in auto mechanical tech (specialising in motorcycles). Downside to this is as it is fulltime. I now feel like quitting uni to take this up as i dont want to be a coppa for 3 years before i can work as an independant forensics scientist. Part time will take 3 year's way to long.

I truly admire your humility mate and that is not taking the piss.... I mean it sincerely. I also admire that you are willing to swallow your pride and accept suggestions, however, you do need to keep the excitement in check and as others have said, focus on the important things such as basic maintenance and riding skills before spending time or money on "performance" mods on a 250. Improved skills will make you far safer and faster than any performance mods you can think of.

U has been given a heap of great advice now Tym2go & well done 4 taking it onboard...Mate until u do that maintenance course think about what yr playing about with on yr bike if u don't get it right and something fucks up at speed or yr in the wrong place at the wrong time the consequences as pointed out above can be horrific. It happens & to blokes who probably have forgotten more about mechanics and riding than u will ever know!!!..Leave the technical stuff 2 the experts..Thanx 4 the post though it's been entertaining.

dont change the pads on the 250 by yourself, no offence but your lack of knowledge isnt going to help you, i changed them on my 250 and the bolts were that tight on i was nearly lifting the front wheel off the ground just to break the hold, plus you need to take the caliper of the rotor to change the pads, i took pictures of me doing it i think but not too sure if i have them now, you are best to be at the mechanics when they do it, and watch and learn for the first time as many others have said
