dont go underestemating hondas.....cars that is not bikes...
if it was a V-Tec which it would eb if its a 95, tehn u ahev no chance once that thing hits between 4000-4500 V-Tec kicks in and its like a minni turbo, give you extra power and pushes teh car forward.... i should know i own a honda, and i tell you you can feel it kick in when its tuned properly..
i agree with anexhausta dn airfilter mod, they are some fun.....
but i woudl liek to see it run teh quarter mile agains one of teh big boys, liek the 636, tehn it may be close....teh honda might win

kellz...dont kid urself...
once uve ridden a decent 600, or litre bike..ull realise just how hard they pull (harder than me with a pre-teen porno)...
and SS..my housemate has a 87 gsxr750..and lapped only 2 sec slower (i think) than jase on his 01?? 636 at mallala..that thing doesnt handle so well...but what it does have, is front weight!!
he cant wheelie the thing, but by fark can the thing launch!!

nice
this one is 2 years up on that, whole new chassis and motor (short stroke) ... its a bit like a 2 stroke, sooo dead down low (old carbys) but absolutely spastic from 5k-13k
i think its handling really is its strong point, so very flickable... really confidence inspiring, really good back street weapon
and definately not hard to wheelie either! moreso with the street fighter setup on it...
oh its for sale too, click here if your keen

i am new to this site and i know this is an old thread but i couldnt believe what i have read.
i cant believe you lost to a vtir unless you missed gears and your bike is faulty.
im not trying to sound like a dickhead but ive dragged integras, skylines and even V8's with my zx2r. kill them all up to around the 120 mark.
launch at around 11-12k rpm and you should have no problems.

Mate, even the turbo AWD traction controlled, totally hotted WRX is pulling sec for the 0-100kph. Even an old 6 like mins is running 100 in 3.5, just as first gear maxes out. Stock mine should run a quarter mile in 11.2. To beat that 0-100 in a car costs many thousands (think small, squat Italian with a big motor). When my back tyre gets square again, I'll def have to go to the drags and see how fast I can get her to go.zbeast wrote:As anyone who drag races will tell you it is all in the launch. Unless its an AWD turbo and they drop the clutch at high revs a bike should beat just about anything on four wheels through an intersection. Once you have that advantage it is pretty hard to overcome provided you aren't getting to stupid speeds. 110kph on the ZX2R is just into 3rd if I remember correctly so you should have no problem dealing with the Honda. With a 10krpm take off slipping the clutch to keep the revs up and changing up just before red line I had no problem staying away from a 200sx with front mount and exhaust. Make sure you slip the clutch too because dropping it at those revs will have the front wheel in the air very quickly.I lane split/filter (whatever it is going between stationary cars) so getting off the front row quickly is always a good idea if you don't want a car up your butt.

250cc bikes are a whole different kettle of fish... they can get across an intersection (5-10m?) about as quick as even most bigger bikes (with a really good rider), but are left for dead by anything 600+ after that
there are plenty of modded cars that can do 1.7-1.9 second 60 footers on street tyres, which is about the same as most stock wheelbase/suspension height bikes will do with a good rider

c model zx9r v xr8 ute
his tyres screeched on every gear change i staid in 1st until i heard his 2nd or 3rd change then gave it a handfull whilst changing to 2nd. BIG WHEELIE and it was all over.
i think most cars vs 600s and 250s is a contest. any bigger bike should blow away 98% of the cars on the road.

Good point there JH + what a waste of clutch & risk of losing your licence / possibly having the plod locking up your bike for a whileJohn H wrote:I wouldn't worry about trying to prove anything to a some guy in a car anyway. In relative terms, any idiot can drive a car (most do!) Riding a bike requires a lot more skill, so what have you got to prove to some guy in a tin top anyway?
Your grandma flying JetStar is going to accelerate and cruise faster than any road car, 95 Honda VTiR included.
