.......Unauthorised Display of Registration labels. Effective 1 January 2013, it will be an offence to display any form of registration label, sticker, note or scrawled message. Registration label holders, wether tubular or rectangular plastic are no longer permitted to be displayed, attached, or otherwise form any part of a motor vehicle. Fine - $223 or 3 demerit points....

This is what it says
You can remove the registration sticker from your light vehicle from 1 January 2013. After 1 January 2013 it will no longer be an offence for light vehicles to not display a registration sticker, or to display an expired or damaged sticker.

There are too many big words in that link. I lost my way after the first sentence.

I just remembered years ago a mate had 5 years worth of expired rego labels on his window and he got 5 tickets.
He didn't have a current sticker and the same copper let him off for that..... Go figure.....

Fine was double the cost of the rego. Didn't even need a rego check

Thanks Gos, just told my family that and they got all work up swearing about the idiotic government.

Then a quick visit to the RTA website dispelled their frustration. I shoulda known better!
