Re-hijack this thread!

The Shinko tyres feel great! Great tyre response, excellent feel on the corners, comfortable controlling at the fronts, also.
Plus, they were only a mere $165 for the front and $260 for the rear (wheel balanced and all)!.

I have Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas(SC2) on my 7. They are nice and sticky but down side to any soft tyre is reduced wear life. I am not too worried about how many k's i get out of a tyre as my bike is not used for daily transport but is more of a weekend toy used for more extreme riding :lol:

and future track days. I run 33psi(front) and 36psi(rear).

On track, do you reduce tyre pressure?

I've heard that Corsa's are very nice tyres, but yes, softer compound = faster wear.

My change to Shinko's was a good choice - nice stability, good feel and good feedback.

Only downside - make sure tyres are scrubbed in before track days!!!

I believe Shinko took over the Yokahama motorcycle tyre division and there supposed to be pretty good. They still have the stigma of the "cheapy" tyre brand but I'm sure that will change.

pirelli diablo corsas are simply sweet tyres... its a track tyre that you can take to the road..
sure, the softer the tyre the faster it wears out but thats all down to how much throttle you put thru the back wheel - for me, i wouldnt sacrifice grip just so i could save a few bucks...
i had plenty of tread left on the old michelins but i just didnt feel comfy pushing it thru corners so i whipped em off and put the pirellis on..
no regrets whatsoever!

as those of you who now me will confirm, i'ma metzler man, sportec m1's are great tyres.

i usually get about 4-5 K from a rear and slightly more for the front. also the road i usually ride on is a little rough around the edges, still ok for some knee down shenanigans tho..... :lol:

Are the Shinko's that you got, the ones that look like the Michelin Pilot Sports? Do you know what model they are?

The K 1200 S was wearing M1's. And I'm with you Phil. Awesome tyres. Next time my tyres need replacing, the Bridgestones are goners.
