If they are glazed you just need to replace the pads and scuff the rotors up with some emery cloth or wet and dry. Drop the bike to Glen at Allfixed and get him to show you how to do it while he fixes it for you.

Mate, it dont matter how good u did ur stop or thort u did on ur test, thats done at slow speed. this is one of the things u need to pratice as much and as often as u can, and its fun getting out on a quiet road and doin high speed stoppies :) its a skill u will never get to good at... trust me...
Whenever i got a new bike, new or 2nd hand, first chance was to get out there and see how it stopped, the last thing u need is to arrive a situation and have to do a panic stop, and not know the bike capabilties.

Example.. few years ago a mates girlfriend went out and bought a litre bike, 1st big bike.. i offered to go out and help her learn how to stop the new jigger, didnt want to listern, she knew it all... after all she said, they taught her at training, so she knew it all. really i saId and asked her about braking %ages. O i dont use the front brake, its dangerous, thats what they told me, she said   true.. well the offer is there.... she didnt need it, she buried in the bushes one day... then give up riding,,, cause its dangerous... true story..

So my point is, listern and learn from those that have been doin this shit for half a lifetime... not having a go at u, as u are now starting to listern, and thats a good good thing.

Glad u are getting it sorted... then get out and practice, practice, hopefully with someone that can explain as u go along..

Cheers

Mate, how can I say this without you taking offence. If you did a stoppie (ie-back wheel in the air... as you stated in the OP), then there is nothing wrong with the brakes. You just didn't allow enough distance to brake. If the discs were glazed, then the back wheel would stay on terra firma! Go do some training before you bin it again!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

You know you're getting old when you start to talk about the next generation as being inept, dumb and useless. I am pretty sure our fore fathers said something similar, who would have thought 100 years ago that you would have to call tradesman or a mechanic!
