Hmm i wish we had the same feirce competition here in Tassie, In hobart there is basically 1 dealership for each brand of motorcycle, which means if u don't get a cheap deal on a Kawasaki then u try to get a good deal on a Yamaha!!!

Plus its not really worth buying a newish bike from melbourne, althought u will save maybe $1k u make up for that in transport etc etc so we are in a bit of a rut here in Tassie!

I think we're getting the 08 10 around Feb/March in NZ and the word is it will be around $20700NZD according to my shop here in Auckland (Mt Eden Motorcycles)! I'm real interested in this bike since I've had a bin on my 9 and it's been written off and therefore are 'bike-less' at present! I May need to re-mortgage the house but I'm considering it! :D
Now 2005, ZX6R 636's ROCK MY WORLD!!!

Hey guys, first post here, might see alot more of me if I can get a good price on a 10 ;)

So after all this debate about working retail, how much is it going out the door for?

You are up against gixxer thou's at $16490. There will be potential customers like me who are torn between the gixxer and the 10 and unless you can come close to the oppositions price, you face losing us. Also as the rrp has remained the same as the '07 model, which can be had for <$16500, again that sets a bench mark of what I would buy for. When the time comes Nick I will give you a call for sure.

p.s. whoever said the bicycle industry is worse needs their head read. The customers may be worse, but the margins are far, far better.

You've dreaming if you think you can get an 08 10r for that price when they come out mate. Maybe you should just try and get the 07 10r.
Or.... stay with the gixxer, but be careful :)

I never expected to get it with the first shipment, I'm happy to wait a few months, but I do expect to get it if they want me to buy a kwaka over a gixxer which is at that price.

I guess this is where my thinking differs from some. I bought one of the first 05 636's for feck all above dealer cost in Jan 05. I Found a dealer who saw more than just an opportunity to sell me a bike. In the end it was perhaps well worth it with the first 17,000klms of it's life being looked after in their workshop and tyre bay! And with the tyre consumption rate that 6 had i had a fair few sets fitted!!! Feck that little bike could eat tyres! I get more mileage from the 9 than I did out of any tyres I ever put on that little thing??? It may have had something to do with what they make you ride like!!!!

Sometimes a relationship with a dealer is worth more than just the job done right! ;)
