That's a bit black and white.
That means you either limit yourself to finding a job within what, 30 minutes(?) of where you live, or you move house to be closer to where you need to work. Moving house seems more in line with loving your job than traveling a distance.

For me, work is in the city/north sydney - there isn't work for me anywhere else (other than other capitals). Couldn't afford to buy a house any closer than Gosford.
So it's where I need to work and where I can afford to live which then sets my travel time. Nothing to do with loving my work (though I don't hate it).
I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.

210 k's isn't all that bad, granted it's more than i do (80 approx) but some of our ride day's are 500 k's or more.

I think commuting really takes the fun out of riding though

In my case 35 mins ride in my case means 75 mins in the car.

But thats rush hour traffic in melbourne across the bridge and onto Kings way...

I find it a great stress-relief after work. I'm weird I know, but I don't mind dealing with traffic.
Focusing on the riding and nothing else is a good for the mind - very Zen.
There's also the added benefit of being able to ride the OPH every day if I so choose ;)

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.

As we're turning my baby into a track bike, I now do the cage thing.
35km to work and it was 30-45min on the bike depending on traffic

1 - 1.5hrs in the car.... bugger of a road over the westgate however if I leave early only - 30mins in the car too, then cos I'm early go for a run before work
Lifes too short...ride hard...
